Ghandi did achieve many things for his people, including free them from tyranny from the British and gain his people rights. Ghandi was their leader, that is the ONLY reason is because he had the love of ALL of his people.
Without Ghandi, who knows how India would've turned out, I know not the way it did!

So lets say we find our own sort of Ghandi, someone to lead us He'll just be assassinated as was Ghandi himself, Martin Luther King, ect ect. Not to mention I believe we are fighting a very different fight than what Ghandi was.

This really a climax in human history. We are systematically being wiped out not only as a country, but as a world, as a human race. We are under attack and the time has come. Put up or shut up. If you all do not wake up and smell the hot coffee brewing, it'll be too late. It's time to stand up and fight for what you believe in, or if for nothing else, fight to not be ashamed of yourself in the eyes of future generations. Sitting on your butt in a park screaming about five thousand different things is not how we're going to achieve anything.

For the OP I absolutely agree with you!!

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but we all need to be behind one another and have each others back. Through any means necessary should we protect this country and each other from these foreign invaders. Aren't we allowed as citizens, per the constitution, to have an armed militia?

See the thing is we already have an armed militia. Considering how many people have weapons in this country, and considering we are under attack from foreign attackers... at this point marching in the streets and sitting around is MUTE it's for NADA. If now is not the time, if enough isn't finally enough, then you tell me when.

Do you like being a slave to the Rothchilds. Do you not understand the dire circumstances we are facing? It's literally now or never. Take action or lay down and die, hand them our children's future on a silk pillow. No time in history has nearly the entire planet been slaves to a few banksters. ITS ABSURD!
I really don't know what else to say. We'll see what your peace movement or whatever you're calling it will accomplish.

We don't have time for patience anymore. Time is running out. They are raping our earth, doing everything they can to destroy this planet and it's people. These bGanksters will have one hell of a price to pay if there is an afterlife..and not just the banksters, but everyone in bed with them.

Revolution to what? The government, the plutocracy. It's not that complicated. It is exactly the same thing our forefather's revolted agaisnt.

The whole point is not to define the movement with one issue, it is to have a revolution. The new government can be in the form of whatever the people make it into. In the mean time, we stand in solidarity for revolution. What are you scared of? The people are in God's hands and that is who I trust.

I understand the rage (believe me) however one of the greatest challenges is finding the real targets. How can people protest Government and business entities that use innocent people as human shields? Think about it. If people riot and start to burn down buildings and infrastructure, they will ultimately only be taking those things away from themselves.

No, the real issue is taking out those entities without hurting innocent people by taking away their incomes, jobs, homes or anything else. Those who are doing these things are cowards and thieves, they have no honour and don't care how many people get hurt in the process of their theft.

What we will see (I think) is exactly the scenario you talking about once enough people have lost everything. That is a double edged sword for once enough people have lost everything, then it will not matter and the people will begin torching everything in site, a sort of scorched earth policy so to speak. The banksters and corporations will lose everything they have stolen and the people will begin to rebuild.
Sad that it has come to this however some people will only ever understand that in which they take so much delight in dishing out. Let's see if they can take what they dish out.

Why not just go straight at em. Its simple. They need 50,0000 in Rome. 50,000 in London. and 50,000. What I mean by that is the the Vatican City in Rome, District of Columbia in Washington , and finally the Inner City of London, in London. These are city states, and not a part of any of these countries. Do you understand where I'm going with this? That's where they need to do their protests.

Please see this great thread.

The general consensus that we are under attack as a nation and as a people is growing quicker and quicker. I wonder if I were the soldier and I had to return home to put bullets in my own beloved homeland I've been fighting for. The time is coming, they've ticked off way too many people, screwed over why do you think the military votes for Ron Paul so much?

There is balance in the Universe. It always balances out. Good beats evil all day. If the entire world willed this into occurrence, paradise we'd be. Free unlimited energy and that's enough said. We need to take our country and planet back from these evil souls. Holy hell if there is a God his wrath on these souls... if they're even human.

I know I want to be able to say I gave it my all. I'm not going to lay down. Imagine what our kids would think. Come to terms with yourself. Who are you and what legacy will you leave behind. One of a coward, or one of someone who made a difference? A patriot or a coward?

It's not "violence" if it's self defense. Think about it.

Lay out the end-game government your movement seeks and we will judge whether it will be another "Trust me, Change you can believe in" or not. "Change" can mean we all are in a line for the firing squad. Post the documents that will comprise the government structure if this "Occupy" movement achieves its goal and you might gain support.

I looked at the headline and said "Yes, darn right, it's time for the protestors to give the Police the reason to bust the whole occupy's thing to pieces"

I hope th OWS guys take it a step futher. The peaceful occupation is the hardest thing to stop. Go boys and get angry and then we can be rid of you.

If these people (OWS) wanted to be taken seriously they should've rioted, stormed the banks.

No they shouldn't have. They're being taken perfectly serious without any stupidity such as riots or violence. After all, look how many people on ATS are desperately, desperately trying any tack they can to discredit OWS. Desperate people like you, and Slayer, and so many others.

if blacks in America could suffer nearly twenty years of brutality against their bodies, their homes, their institutions and hteir character during their movement, without cracking under the strain and turning to rioting and mass bloodshed, then I believe OWS is quite capable of keeping htei cool after two months.

Why do you want there to be viokence, exactly?

If those 10k people wherever stormed the HQ of Chase or something then I'd say rage on. I believe it would have spread like a wild fire, have been epic. A real revolution could have occurred. While I understand their would be much collateral damage, I believe the time for peaceful resistance is up. Sitting in a park absolutely accomplishes diddly squat.

It accomplishes enough to scare the hell out of the city's rulers. And your belief is plainly wrong. As for the numbers... just the other day over thirty five thousand people marched on the Brooklyn Bridge. "Ten thousand?" yeah, maybe back in September.

You understand there would be "much collateral damage," huh? As in dead people, do you realize? Who do you think should be murdered?

I know their are a bunch of OWS threads.. Let's focus more on a fictional scenario of what would have happened had they stormed the HQ of one of these banks, all 10k of them. Would it have spread? Would it have been a good idea? Would thousands more have joined?

Hundreds would have been hurt, possibly killed. The cops would have mobilized with live ammunition. And no one could say that it would not be justified on the part of the cops. It would do irreparable harm to OWS across the country and world.

...Oh, I get your position now.

Let's also focus on weather or not you agree if the time for peaceful resistance is over.

What say you, ATS

I used to be rather like you. I'd watch these videos and go "I WISH a MF-er would!" I couldn't understand why the protestors wouldn't hit back.

And then I realized. Who has more power? The man who flails and fights back, or the man who decides not to?

An empty hand can accomplish more things than a closed fist.

Why are you so desperate to see violence against your fellow countrymen. Why do you want to see the break up of peaceful protesters, even if you don't agree with them, surely having protest in a country is better than having no protest and total compliance to the system. Or is it only a certain type of American who is allowed to protest. The type that wins the endorsement of FOX news.

I'm hoping for changes too but not violent or anything. The system needs to be changed, no demonstration nor riot is going to do that. The only way I see western societies changing is if people with money start building villages living off the grid, as self sufficient as possible. Doesn't even have to be villages, it can also be accomplished by creating indoor agriculture farms from unused office buildings complete with water purifiers and solar panels. That way people can still live in the city but lead a farmers life, humanity has lived like this for centuries. Ofcourse, people living there should not expect to own luxury items. Ironically I can only see those from the upper classes creating something like this as those being poor would simply not have the money for it.

The O's have nothing to do with the 99% of America. This is all about the 1%. The 1% who have no idea what it means to raise a family, struggle in a career. The 1% who have no experience with real life. They have lived 20% and believe they have 100% wisdom. The truth is most of America will go to work tomorrow just like it did the day before. We will pay our bill, feed our kids and do it all over again. Most of us will pay the mortgage while we worry about the resale value, but will pay it anyway. When we see the"Owns" we see losers and kids who have no idea what it means to be responsible adults. Wanna be throwback Hippie types, who claim Democracy and speak Socialism. These are people who will never be CEO's or CFO's because they will spend their live sucking off the teat of the rest of us.. Before you preach anarchy, build something of your life and have ownership in something more than a 9 year old Honda, and an x-Box. Most of you who preach Anarchy know nothing, have nothing and likely never will. You are the 1%

That will never happen because they have no idea what the grid is... and this will never solve a thing, but teach a 1%r how to camp... You still have all the other 1%rs to worry about. Changing one will not do anything but make him hated by the other 1%, and possibly dead...

Action is needed. Even though it sucks... we have a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT IF AT ANY TIME IT DOES NOT BECOME A GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE ANYMORE.

Let's do it...

I agree, voting does not work anymore. Our only choices are "evil" and "more evil". What kind of choice is that?
