Actually, there are not 5 1s. There are 5 1s, a 2, and a 0. This is 2011.
Otherwise, we should expect that 11"weird days" also happened between November 1 and 11 of 1911, 1811, 1711, and 1611. Did they?

Damn you people are mean. I think he was just trying to say that there are some coincidental dates comming, like 11.11.11 stuff like that..

I think its pretty cool. My grandmother always had a thing for 11:11, and I always happen to look at the clock when its 11:11, but its probably just something that stands out, nothing supernatural.

My god finally someone has mentioned this. I would have expected the real 11/11/11 date to be on 11, 11, 1111..... not 2011.... I just think it'll be another day. We shall see.

i'm afraid doing math on dates is like digging in the remains of whats left in your coffee-machine, hoping to find something important there.
there's no proof that any math about dates came up with something which couldn't be explained by randomness/statistics or whatever.

if you think you need to spend some time trying to figure some curiousities about numbers why not hunt down natural constants to be consisting with something.
maybe some sensational breakthrough in science can be explained by having YOU figuring about a mathematic relation between this and that.

Yep...that was exactly my point.

Why are you singling out 2011? There were no significant recorded "weird days" from 1/11 to 11/11 of any of the previous XX11 years.
Also, why are you singling out the Gregorian/Julian calendar?

As has been pointed out, November 11, 1111, must have been quite a day.

Well now that it's 5:11 on 11/1/11 here in Chicago, I guess we'll have to wait just a few more hours to see if anything interesting corresponds to today. (this meaning on a global scale, something interesting is ALWAYS happening.)

Interesting facts don't necessarily mean that the person sharing them intends to prophesize about doomsday or anything else for that matter.

It seems that any who would are taking the easy road, because its much easier to say something will happen on a special date like 1/11/11, and be wrong... then to make a prediction for a regular old date like 3/25/12.

Was there anything significant on November 11, 1911??? I'm at work or I would check,

11-11-11 is a truly significant day! It signifies the release of one of the MOST anticipated game in history...The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! ...nothing else, tho...If the world does end on that day, I will be very PO'd...

01/01/01 was a weird day also as I signed my rent check that everybody was afraid wouldn't happen. I also had to make an 11/1/11 mortgage deposit today.

I actually hate these 'numerology' days. I much prefer the days in between.
