They need to learn that we've already claimed ownership of the world and it's resources. They need to learn that they have to work for us or accept what little we give them for not working for us. It's like they think they were born free or something.

Society is really weird, huh?

I'm sorry but you've got that wrong. I am from that generation when there was disipline in

schools, and my contemprories and i laugh about it, and are of the opinion that it should

be brought back...........as it hasn't done any of us any harm

And i would think that crime on on a council estate is an 'inside job' as i wouldn't think any

one goes into them to commit a crime

Then complaining about 'paltry' benifits...........be grateful for them they are only meant to

HELP between jobs NOT AS A WAY OF LIFE.........................and my generation never

had benefits only 'soup kitchens!'....

DEPRIVATION...................watch the footage of parts of Africa.....walking miles for a bowl of

rice and clean water and a tent!!!.......................thats deprivation.

Lolol, im NOT wrong, people of that generation walked out of school with different experiences about that system. You might laugh about it later in life but my dad absolutely hated it. Everyone is different. Crime on Council Estates are not "inside jobs" Your neighbours WILL rob you blind if you dont protect your castle, they will smash up your car/break your windows if you mess with the wrong people - Living on a council estate can be a warzone. a day to day battle and after a few years of this, alot of people start to loose hope. No authority sorts it out, people are left to fester in the #, eventually being labled as scum themselves because they just cant be assed trying to make a difference.
As for the benefits system - Dont make me laugh

Some people make out like you walk into an office and theres someone waiting there with a check and a brochure, couldnt be futher from the truth. The money you get isnt enough to pay for gas, electric, food, transport TO and FROM interviews and for anything else you might need, such as a nice shirt to look employable?
Always made me laugh however, that the security guard at my local dole office was indeed foreign, from some part africa. Oh wait, its not politically correct to say "British jobs to British people" is it? No? Well i guess we should just keep treating the working class like little kids then until they start paying attention.

You know its a form of insanity to keep doing something the same way and expecting different results? two things the youth dont have:
1. Responsibility
2. A future

But # it, lets shoulder the blame on them

Put 'em on ships and send 'em to America.

Obama has hundreds of thousands of foreclosed homes that need new tenants.

If they hated it in England...let 'em see how bad it really is...by dumping their lazy socialist rears in a failed socialist state.

Better yet, send the convicted to Syria and Libya to see how other countries deal with civil unrest, first hand.

At the end of the day response and punishment should be equal to the threat to the public, I have no problems with deadly force being used by the Police here.

But the issue then is how far does this go.

We now have Boris (London Mayor) pushing for more funding to the police, all well and good but we have a situation here already where civil liberties are being crushed (smoking ban in cars and public areas on the cards, forced controls on motorbike users relating to modifications and dayglo clothing etc etc), I do not want to see these riots being used as an excuse to have a police state mentality introduced.

If people get too used to seeing a large number of police about how will we go about disbanding (back to pre riot levels) these increased numbers ? If police get rights to use rubber bullets, water cannons, firearms etc, will this only last in this emergency or will they become standard issue to 'prevent' future issues.
With the Olympics in 2012 (What a HUGE waste of money that is but I digress...) would that be a 'publically acceptable' reason to leave the increased police prescence ?

Time will tell but I get the feeling these idiot rioters may have just opened the door to a very negative future.

I'm sorry but is someone from a country with hidden trash can sensors, CCT everywhere and a total ban on self defense talking about the USA - ahahahahaha

btw I hate to point his out to you but your country has been run by outright named Socialism for quite a while unlike ours.

"The Labour Party is a centre-left democratic socialist party in the United Kingdom. It surpassed the Liberal Party in general elections during the early 1920s, forming minority governments under Ramsay MacDonald in 1924 and 1929-1931. The party was in a wartime coalition from 1940 to 1945, after which it formed a majority government under Clement Attlee. Labour was also in government from 1964 to 1970 under Harold Wilson and from 1974 to 1979, first under Wilson and then James Callaghan.

The Labour Party was last in government between 1997 and 2010 under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, beginning with a majority of 179, reduced to 167 in 2001 and 66 in 2005. Having won 258 seats in the 2010 general election, Labour is the Official Opposition. Labour has a working majority in the Welsh Assembly, is the main opposition party in the Scottish Parliament and has 13 members in the European Parliament. The Labour Party is a member of the Socialist International. The Party's current leader is Ed Miliband MP."

Wow.. some of your guy's comments.. just... wow.

Looking for someone to blame? Take a look in the mirror.
Each and everyone of use is to blame. Our entire society.

There was one comment by someone that stated something like "third world people bring third world ideas like lying, and thieving" lol really? Yeah, cause the white man never has told a lie or stolen anything from anyone.. *rolls eyeballs so hard they almost pop out*

It's a clear sign that people are pissed off enough at the way things are in life, that they will use ANY excuse to riot, and THAT is the beginning of the end. Look at history, and EVERY other riot breaking out in the world.

I bet all the sheep that were too comfy or scared to participate in the French revolution, the American revolution, or any other revolution that has occurred in the past, that helped humanity leap forward, were saying the same sh*t most you cats are spewing now....

But whatever.

You guys continue on trying to find something to blame, discuses "possible punishments" for those who very well may be cheered on for in the future....

I'll continue to stand back and embrace change, and understand that everything happens for a reason.
What is going down in London right now, is because it needs to. There is a reason and a positive outcome in the end.

peace.

That is a fantastic idea! The mindless thugs that are behind the riots should also be made to serve community service in the form of re-building all that they have destroyed that way they gain ownership of what they produce and they will also come face to face with the people whose lives they have ruined with their vandalism. For those of you on here who think they are protesting about the state of their lives, try sparing a thought for all the people who have worked hard all of their lives (local shop owners) who are not RICH, even though these morons think they are, think about seeing all you have being ripped apart, think about effectivley having no income or stock to maintain an income, think about how your insurance premiums will sky rocket after you claim. Instead of feeling sorry for the little bastards that are nothing more than theives with no wish to work hard or develope a career, who think that they are entitled to everything that they want just because their parents are sat at home on benefits for no reason. instead of feeling sorry for them, we should all demand that they be removed from society, they dont act civilised so why should they be allowed in civilisation? Dont even get me started on human rights, people who behave in this way should lose all human rights if they wish to act like animals. If the tattoo idea doesnt work we should bring back national service send them to the front lines so they can have a taste of terror, with any luck they wont make it home. Nothing but bastards!!!
I am English by the way, just so the American contingent on here realise we arent all savages.

What punishment is sufficient for people who are DEFENDING Law and Order, as well as the most violent, greedy and corrupt establishment Britain has ever had?

Rioters are on the side of direct freedom and justice, not for supporting filthy violent cops who shoot teenagers in cold blood, just like their buddy Anders Breivik did. Remember that?

Diyainoue is full of fudge.
edit on 10/8/11 by Echtelion because: (no reason given)

Funny, so If I have problems with the system, and I do believe me, I may rob my neighbours? That makes sense right? IMO you should bring it to the system, burn only police stations, hack the cctv, go to the parlement and burn it, go to buckingham palace, but ok my neighbours are closer and easier to get, i get that

Yes IF i was looting, destroying, stealing, setting alight cars which belonged to members of

the public, and behaving in an anti social manner I WOULD expect to have my rights taken away

No you must respect the rights of humans at all times.

They have a right to be charged with a crime legitimately, and to due process to a fair trial where they will stand in defense. Than they can be prosecuted correctly and the court will decide their fate.

How do you not know this yet? Do you really want to live in complete tyranny and violence? A war zone? Or a civilized nation of responsible and mature citizens? Your choice.

In my circle and extended circle of friends there is an agreement that if we ever got the strap

or we were excluded etc. we very probably deservered it, and the fact that it was there possibly

stopped any possible BAD behaviour.

When i said 'inside job' i didn't mean the householder..........i meant the known 'bad boys' on

the estates, and a getting together of potential 'victims' and co-operating with the police to

keep crime at bay.

A decent shirt ?
i'm sure before a person becomes unemployed they must have been in

possession of a decent shirt !.........so i don't see how that is a problem.Anyway i believe that a

'one off' payment is available for a suit for interviews. I know someone who always looks 'a

million dollars' and dresses (selectively) out of oxfam! and i have clothes that still look good

from two or three years ago.

And i agree that the immigration situation has got out of hand and jobs should go first to the

British, whether that is politically correct or not.

As for youth not having 'Responsibility' .......that is NOT a given.....they need first to take

responsibility for themselves ...grow up, not expect to have things handed to them on a plate

...........you need to work your way up the ladder.........starting from the meanial bottom
