What does it mean like for example:This thread has 34 flags.Is that a bad thing to have flags?

Nooo flags are a good thing. You flag a thread if you feel that it is good, or important or a lot of the time if one of your friends posted it

No flags is for topics that you approve, enjoy and want to draw attention to. Its a rating system based on popularity sometimes so don't look at flags as good or bad content per say, just the popular one.

Flags are for threads and stars are for posts. You are free to star or flag the posts and threads you feel are well-written, important, or if you just agree. Welcome to ATS!

Flags are to show people like or enjoy someones thread.

So, they're good.

Stars are good to, they show that someone likes your post, the more stars, the more people liked your post.

Note that you can't star posts in introductions and board business forums.

And then there's WAT's karma and Applause....!
