If you look at the text in the bible with an open mind it really does seem like it.
More cunning, more convincing, and gain more followers and cause people to grow cold and jaded as the false prophecy trend progresses.
But since I'm not a bible humper I'll just say it's all self fulfilling.

This was not technically a hoax. It is technically an error. A hoax would be if the person making the claim knew full well it was not true and was deliberately making it up with intent to deceive.
The guy was just wrong. Luckily with free speech this is not a crime.
