WASHINGTON – To coincide with World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has launched a new public service announcement (PSA) that aims to raise awareness of the economic impact of IP theft.

Through the administrative forfeiture process, individuals who have an interest in the seized domain names are provided a period of time after the "Notice of Seizure" to file a petition with a federal court and additional time after the "Notice of Forfeiture" to contest the forfeiture.

I cannot concur with illegal downloads, however, this is piggy-backing other things.

This is putting Customs and Immigration Enforcement into the online communities.

Making cyberspace an "immigration" issue.

Sure sounds as if they're tying together everything towards the cashless society.

$&F. Thanks for bringing awareness to this issue. The government will always try to silence the voice of freedom for it is the only thing that hasn't been controlled completely. All the government seems to do is always take and take some more and very rarely give back to the community.

Yet they sell it as protecting people's rights.

I'm all for protecting people's rights.

But the rights of all citizens need to be protected equally.

Not the rich first, the average second, and the poor never.

I hate these PSAs... they overly simplify a subject into a 30 second slot and ultimately it sounds just like a lie.

They do oversimplify these public service announcement, yes, but for a reason.

The targeted audience is those people too stupid to understand politics.

Those are the type of people willing to snitch you our for your Facebook comments.

Which is about 95% of the American populace who pays more attention to American Idol.

Waste of time watching television anymore unless you can gain intelligence.

Whether you get it off the street or off the internet, digital piracy and product counterfeiting are not victimless crimes. The financial repercussions are very real and cost real jobs.

what nonsense why aren't the blaming the finical crisis? oh thats right they wont so they blame the innocent citizens who cant afford to buy the least hollywood garbage and todays music? its also garbage, so why should we the people waste our money?
