I wouldn't say it's just Obama's wars. It's more like Bush and Obama's wars. We keep on trying to point the finger at one party when both parties are guilty for supporting these wars. Stop believing the lies these candidates spew during election time. They quickly lose their memory once they're elected. When are we going to start holding them responsible for their actions?

Thanks, Soleprobe, for sharing that! As others have also stated, I saw no mention of this in any media. I am heartened...there's still hope for USA yet!! For every single person in attendance, how many others would be there if he/she wasn't working, or wasn't ill, or wasn't disabled, or was able to afford the trip there, etc.????

George bush started the afghan and Iraqi wars.
Did you forget or are you just ignoring that?
I'm opposed to all wars, but blaming iraq and Afghanistan on Obama is absurd.

Most (if not all) on this forum know politicians are mere puppets. And many know Mr Soetoro may be the greatest puppet of all time. But because the office of the president (Commander in Chief) does have the power to end unconstitutional and unnecessary wars (though it may cost him his life) he’s continuing where puppet Bush left off by not exercising that authority thus enabling these wars to not only continue but to multiply…. So it’s OK to call it “Obama’s wars.”

It's irrelevant at this point blaming this president or that one, we should really just focus on the bigger problem of continually allowing illegitimate wars continue. We act as though once something (bad) has begun and the wheels start turning that somehow it's too late. It's up to the American people to persuade our leaders that taking military action against other countries over their resources is WRONG, and will not be tolerated. Only by assuming that stance together can we work on changing policies that allow these wars to happen. Talk to others, educate, enlighten friends / co-workers and we will ascend together, eventually!

It's disgusting that the MSM turns a blind eye to these type of marches/protests. But what does it matter!
We know how that story ends. They will manipulate and distort the truth for us to easily digest!
But it's obvious that we can bypass the dog and pony show by getting a wider range of news/information via internet, and formulate our own ideas.. then bring them here to debate.

I don't know much about the group that marched, but it truly warms my heart to hear that some Americans will not take these wars of greed and power sitting down.

This was quite a large demo. 9 April. I don't recall any coverage, either.

We need more anti-war protests. But if this is going to translate into anti-Obama, as the title of this thread implies, then its organizers are mighty short-sighted.

Hasn't history conclusively proven that ANY president can be forced into war? And if he absolutely refuses, he will be eliminated and replaced by one that will go along with the plan.

That should be the lesson of our age. So why would we protest against presidents if we want to stop war? At this point in our history such an action or idea could almost be seen as intentionally misleading. The level we are up against these days, at least in terms of war, is ideology. And that leads back to academia, philosophy, and religious beliefs. Those institutions are common to all of us, which is why political affiliation doesn't seem to matter so much these days.

Political revolutions, then, will not solve war. An ideological revolution might.

i·de·ol·o·gy/ˌīdēˈäləjē/Noun
1. A system of ideas and ideals, esp. one that forms the basis of economic or political policy...

(The above text taken straight off Google just to make sure y'all understand what I'm talking about.)

Forced into a war how? Not very specific on this thought but i'd like you to explain it a bit further so I can debunk your reasoning.

Idiots berating the Government and a president who is actually doing A GOOD JOB of running the country and fixing the almost irreperable mess and debts left over from idiot Bush and his self-serving puppet government.

These people and a lot of people on here need to learn the definition of wars, because whats going on right now are not 'wars' and never have been. They are military enforcement of lawfully passed UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTIONS.

They are not 'Obama's Wars' they are very necessary humanitarian liberation of countries under tyranny. These whining maggots need to start understanding that.

perhaps I think you need to read up on your political science some. Look up War Powers Act and tell me if Obama is following the law or ignoring it.

You guys notice something?

When protests are in the US, the media give numbers in the "thousands" or "hundreds" to depict how small it is.

When protests are abroad in countries that the US want Oil from, the media says "the whole nation is in uprising" when it's only a few hundred individuals.

I laughed...
but seriously, why does it matter who ISN'T giving a crap, when all it takes is a small percentage that do?
When MILLIONS could see what thousands had the courage to do... that will have a major effect.
Why focus on what could have happened when we should focus on what DID happen. 10,000 people is enough to fill my entire town, so to me that's a significant number. Of course, I realize your point, but why detract from what happened. It could have not happened at all... then we wouldn't be talking about it here, would we?
It doesn't take much to start the snowball..

Professionally organized commie sedition.
If you think this was normal people just taking to the streets, deny ignorance is not going on here.

UNAC planned and organized this with a whole schedule of other stuff around the country.
International Socialist Organization, is one of its founders.

The International Socialist Organization is based in the United States and identifies with the politics of "International Socialism," which follows the Trotskyism philosophy. It publishes the weekly newspaper Socialist Worker and the bimonthly magazine the International Socialist Review. It also hosts the "Socialism" conference each summer

The MSM didn't cover it but these guys did,

Along with a whole host of other commie pinkos.

Well I’m not too crazy about posting threads but looked around ATS hoping to find a thread about this but I couldn’t find one so because it’s newsworthy I decided to post a thread on it here. Doesn’t seem to be too much coverage on antiwar anything these days.

Videos and photos of the diverse NYC Rally estimated at more than 10,000 can be seen in the following links.

I can't see videos, but my comment is : Hang about! Except for Libya, they're Bush's wars. Obama only inherited them. I am shocked but not surprised to see here on ATS, heaps of people who favour dry-drunk baby sociopath dynastic billionaire Bush, and loathe Obama, who afaik is not part of any huge dynasty or mega-corporate. Is it a white/black or a right/left thing?
IMO, Obama is inadequate but not evil. Bush is evil.
