The point is the longest and last long count calendar ends on Dec 2012, signaling some new phase or rebirth afterward. The Mayans probably had to stop projecting at some point, though, so it could have been more arbitrary than we think. Or there is another bachtum or whatever you call it that picks up that we just never found. Again, I'll have to read what you shared later on today or this week.

Why do you call it the longest and last? It is the longest of the Mayan calendars although there were Mayan time periods longer than this. Also, all long counts would be of the same length of time - a fixed number of days.

Did the Mayans stop projecting? No. I pointed out a date from 4772AD taken from a Mayan inscription.

Why do you suggest that the end of a calendar signals anything at all? The Mayans never mention anything happening at the end of the calendar. There are no prophecies associated with the end of the long count. That does not mean that there are no modern tales attached to the end of the long count. There are many and the problem is that these modern tales are reported as being Mayan in origin - that is just not true.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. If the Mayans used cyclical time, then why does their system continue to report increasing values? Ancient peoples did use cyclical time, but the Mayan calendars do not reflect that just as the Gregorian calendar is not cyclical.

Planet x has been renamed so many times - the search for that particular location ended in 1989, due to new measurements of Uranis/Neptune, yes. I understand it very well, I've researched the # out of this, thank you very much. There are other planet x theories out there that remain - the orbits and names of it just keep changing.
