Well, reading many of your posts, if the spooks are monitoring, you might seem to be a good candidate for enhanced surveillance. Not a hit against you, but you post some pretty provocative content.

lmao
dude, if u only knew me personally u'd
laugh ur ar$e off thinking I was a threat
to anything other than a pork chop.
I am old and disabled and have MANY
medical problems. If that is what
passes as a threat these days, then Lord
help us.

And if TPTB want me, all they have to
do is ask, I will gladly turn myself in.
I can't run. But I do hope they have
a handicapped toilet wherever they take
me. Else somebody's gonna have a mess
to clean up.

Yep, a real threat there huh ???

Dear BS, Sorry I can't attend your pity party.

I am saddened to learn of your infirmities but that does not dismiss some of the intense vitriol you often spew. Although you may not consider yourself a physical threat, your abilty to type and incite others with your often extremist views coupled with your clear ability you use a computer for potentially nefarious means still make you a possible threat to some nonetheless.

I'm on fiber with a smoking fast connection and often experience periodic dropouts:

Solar flares?
A bird on a wire?
A traffic accident knocking down a pole?
A gardner with a shovel?
Barney Fife doing a 'Man in the Middle' spoof?
EMF event?
Who knows what?

Sorry if anyone feels my reply seems harsh and without empathy. A stroke left me with the ability to only type with one hand. (Caps Lock is my friend) and I walk with a cane. But I've never used that as an excuse for the ideas I express here on this site to diminish my ideology, tone or potency to be taken seriously. Words do matter, "The pen is mightier than the sword."

Sorry for your internet dropouts, I'm sure your post was a doozie but Karma is a boomerang so ya never know.
Regards...kk

I have Charter (So Cal) and the service is terrible. Internet goes out daily anywhere from minutes to hours. Many other people that subscribe to Charter have the same problem in the area.

Does your coax run through your attic?

On one occasion, the internet and tv went out due to crtters (cats, rats, etc.) gnawing through the cable.

no, I have no attic and the line
runs directly out through the wall
and into the ground.

It happened on a long post?
That has happened. Depends what you wrote.

Also, have had the internet/phone/cable go off for 30 minutes to 2 hours on posting not now though or even recently. Then on the phone to my mother when the phone came back, I sensed it was being bugged, not a clicking like it sometimes did, or a tape, but I sensed a real person, and just spoke up and was quite annoyed, told them to say no to NWO and to be a real man and hero, and then bang, there was violent click click click's and the internet/tv/phone went offline for another long period. Similar things have happened other times, but that was the worst.

So, a long post disappeared, interesting.

It must be maintenance day for the internet, mine was down until about 5pm.
I called Telus and there was a recorded message saying there would be outages across Alberta.

I have problems with internet going down for brief periods of time for about a week now. I wandered if other people were having trouble as well. It was strange because I would get all sorts of different error messages each time. I am in Missouri. I called up my ISP and they said there weren't any problems.

If you ask me, I have to go with what Mike Ruppert said in "Collapse"....

It's part of the systemic collapse, where everything goes in dis-repair because there is no longer any budget for fixing things, look at our highway systems and water systems... Soon our internet and cellphones will start to go also

no, it happened 3 times total.
only 1 of those 3 was when I was
posting.

I also had a signal and a light on the modem
just no service, all web pages came up
could not be found.

and 20 times is rather many.

Oh, I did read the OP just fine.

Not sure why you would not want to call your ISP for any outage reports. Common sense says that should be your first action. You did not choose to do so for fear of appearing stupid? That's a lame excuse.

Customer service is not always aware of everything. Could have been anything. Dial-up, DSL, cable or fiber optics or however you decide to access the net...will have intermittent outages for any number of reasons. I do believe previous posters have put forth some scenarios so I will not repeat them. Happens all the time.

There is nothing out of the ordinary here...but then this will probably go 27 or so pages like the retarded whale and dolphins causing the japan earthquake thread did.

SERIOUS REPLY: The problems you describe could be related to your computer, not your ISP. TCP/IP protocol, Browser etc. can get buggy. Unless you have two computers connected via same router/modem set up experiencing same non connectivity, it is difficult to differentiate.

NON SERIOUS REPLY:

Admittedly I'm no computer expert but here is an option worth a try. On a windows machine:

Go to RUN and type CMD, hit Enter.

You should be presented with a prompt of: C:Windows>

At the prompt, type CD. If that doesn’t work, type CD.

You will now see a C:>.

Type format c: /s and then hit Enter.

Ignore any warning prompts and reply YES to all.

That should do it, be sure to report back when done.

ETA: The above was satire. Driver on a closed course. Do not attempt at home.

and was turned back on.

The exact same thing happened again around 12:40 pm
exactly 30 mins later and stayed off for exactly 5 mins
and then came back on.

For what's it worth before I laugh my socks off, it would be very odd for an ISP to planned maintainence in the middle of the day. I work in telecoms and almost all our planned outages are in the dead of night..

Now for the patronising chuckle....
.... sorry...

There is no such thing as "the internet" to shut down, in so far as a homogenous entity someone can just "turn off". The clue is in the name, it is derived from "interconnected networks" and is really just a collection of protocols, nothing physical.

would shut down twice for exactly 5 mins each time?

If your router or modem was having a mare and rebooted, 5 mins sounds about right from the first loss of service to everything synching back up again. At least, that's how long it takes for my router to get going should it be rebooted.

So, in short, a couple of "hits" seen during the day could be anything and is probably nothing. Could be weather, could be an ISP problem, could be your router, could be your network card, could be your computer or it could be a pigeon taking a crap on your line. Without detailed info, usually only obtainable by directly inspecting your system, suich as router logs, it would be impossible to say.
