It is kind of hard to figure out times - I hate working in UTC - but if yo go
here you can see satellite photo of England & Ireland on the 1/3 from Aqua &
Terra, and by navigating you can get previous days.
On Aqua I see a couple of contrails at the top right, and a broad band of cirrocumulus cloud ahead of a front.
It is there on
Terra too....and there's some contrails
that look like they are almost directly over Wakefield (if I have my english geography correct...which is by no means given....)
Cirrocumulous often occurs before a front, and indicates the sort of super-saturated air that is where contrails are likely to form - they often occur
together like this.
