Jim Cantore - Thunder snow Chicago Blizzard 2011

When I seen this I just thought "Oh my god that is incredible!'. I know some winter storms when the atmosphere is unstable enough can produce thunder but that was pretty incredible.

I am still trying to find a video of what I seen on the weather channel where people were being blown around in the streets of Chicago earlier today (Feb. 2), the wind was so strong they could barely even stand up. If anyone has a link to this video please post it.

Around a week ago in NYC there was snow and some thunder, pretty crazy stuff

I have been lucky enough to see and hear thundersnow twice in my lifetime, it is an awesome sight and experience! It is also unusual in my area, north ga, we saw it once during the blizzard of 1993, and again recently when we had a major snowstorm a couple of weeks ago. The one factor in both years is that both times have been an el nino year.
