Paul Pelosi, 82, has been taken to hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, a spokesperson says.

The attacker, who has not been named, is in custody but the motive for the attack is not known.

Ms Pelosi was not at the San Francisco home when the incident took place on Friday morning.

The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Paul, has been "violently assaulted" this morning in a San Francisco home invasion, the congresswoman’s spokesperson says.

"Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi," spokesperson Drew Hammill said. "The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation.

"Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery," Hammill added.

it's not really a "crime" problem, it's just some people aren't as nice as others. But everything is fine, the bail system is good, criminals, while misunderstood, are finally being looked at with different eyes. Soon crimes will no longer be anything to worry about, we will all be like a big happy family.

But Nance, if you are going to make an omelet, you will have to break a few eggs.

I have a hard time believing that the third person in line to be president doesn't have better security in her house. She might not have been there but she wouldn't need to be to plant a bomb in her home.

yup...another in a long line of "we will never know the truth"...tho usually the perps in these cases are offed and unable to voice their truth.
But I love a conspiracy theory, so I'm gonna guess it is a message, not a break-in. Plenty of people would like to send one to them for various reasons.

Further with an election coming up I would be remiss if I were not to bring up the fact that some people would vote dem just because they feel sorry for his attack? Garnering votes? An odd way to do it for sure, but it is not beyond the realm of possibility
