End Time Prophecies: A Sign of the Times

Hello, im new to ATS (registred that is, been reading for some time). Forgive me for bad spelling or grammar, english is not my first language.
About the food shortage, Russia raised the price of wheat recently. And that hade a big impact on market were "experts" said that it would have effect globaly. Because they are the largest exporter of wheat.
This news are the first real sign of food shortage that also should have an effect on western sociaty.
I find many links to the news by just google it. So i wont bother whit providing one specific link to the thread.

My personal theory- or rather the traditional theory, which I go back to because I think they were right all along- is that Plague is the first horseman.

The sequence, to me, is Plague, War, Famine, but they could overlap or come simultaneously.
I musn't get into theory too much, because we're supposed to be looking for topical examples- so further theory can be found here;

Thought I would toss this in your thread for something to chew on.

Daniel 8 and 11.

It's true that those prophesies were "fulfilled" several thousand years ago. But there is a problem though. Sometimes prophesies repeat. And after some study it appears that they could be repeating.

What they predict. According to Daniel 11-2 a country in the west it calls "the realm of Greece" is attacked by a group of nations that were a part of ancient Persia. That would be the middle east in today's terms. Then in Daniel 8 that country attacks back and conquers 2 of those nations. Then "Persia" itself is killed.

After that then the "Greece" of the prophecy is then broken into 4 nations.

So far Daniel appears to be 3 for 3 as far as predicting a couple major events of the 21st century. Which then opens the floor for the following questions.

Is the US the "Greece" of the prophecy?

Was 11-2 a prediction of the 9-11 attacks?

And then did Daniel 8 predict the wars on Afghansitan and Iraq?

And finally is it predicting the destruction of Iran?

3 for 3 and a possible 4 for 4 in a year or so is quite the coincidence eh?

In Islam, some of the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, suggest that the Euphrates will dry up (drop off), revealing unknown treasures that will be the cause of strife and war.

* "Soon the river Euphrates will disclose the treasure [the mountain] of gold. So, whoever will be present at that time should not take anything of it." — Sahih Bukhari.

* The Prophet Muhammad said: "The Hour will not come to pass before the river Euphrates dries up to unveil the mountain of gold, for which people will fight. Ninety-nine out of one hundred will die [in the fighting], and every man among them will say: 'Perhaps I may be the only one to remain alive'." — Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim.

* The Prophet Muhammad said: "The Euphrates reveals the treasures within itself. Whoever sees it should not take anything from it". [5]
* "It [the Euphrates] will uncover a mountain of gold [under it]." — Sunan Abi Da'ud.

No, no link. I just got it after watching the news about the flood in china and pakistan, it's a subtle hunch, some sort of a momentum that's starting to roll.

Have you noticed wheat prices going up in stores? I always watch for signs of inflation when I shop, but I haven't seen it here yet as far as wheat prices go.

Revelation:
-No mention of a USA type nation in the end...where did we go? we're disappearing even now
-Israel is building an alliance with Germany...the largest arms dealer to israel for the last 10 years
-A peace formed through germany creating a Palestinian state with borders patroled by EU/German troops is pending...thus the gentiles tread the streets of the Holy City
-The Catholic Church is playing a major role in the victories iof the National Socialist resurgeance of conservatives in European politics...ie revival of nazi like parties in Denmark, netherlands, and in germany
-The mother of harlots rides the beast..aka Europa rides Zeus
-Medvedev and Putin, Asia, China, Africa, and europe are all calling for a one world global economy with a single global currency...even have pics of Medvedev holding a coin

Thanks, this is the type of thing I've been looking for. I personally like to read articles of things happening around the world as concrete evidence that what the Bible says is happening is happening.

I'm going to compile a list of articles and when I am through, everyone will be amazed at how much evidence is actually out there.

Good reply, however I do feel that the United States is referenced in the bible. Example: (I think Jacob speaking) Genesis 48:19 - "But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations." Perhaps the US is one of the nations ?? I've also sadly thought, that maybe we will be part of or will have something to do with the anti-christ. Just my thoughts. I find it a little odd that there was so much hype about computer failure in 2000, but little or nothing in main-stream news about 2012. Mostly sarcastic reports if anything.

I find it sad what is happening to the ocean. It seems that our problems are only beginning. Here is a link I found right here on ATS.

One morning, last week, I was watching local news before work. The ticker that scrolls across the bottom (which has mostly national and international news) had something about a naval base authorities investigating an outbreak of Legionaries disease. I don't recall which state. I tried searching on Yahoo for a complete news story, but none to be found.

Israel is removing the walls around one town that I know of because they think its safe to do now. What on earth for, don't they know war is upon them?
