Maybe itll get more people to look at the sky from time to time and see whats there.

Maybe I'm reading the situation differently, but is ATS being threatened with denial of service attacks? Lol, anon really has fallen from grace. You're not going to hold these people back now; you've given them a moral crusade. I have little doubt that there are a large number of ATS'ers now absolutely dead-set on seeing this prank fail.

Anon should have played it cool when they saw this thread, instead of rising up prematurely and going off halfcocked, blowing their figurative 'loads' all over the situation.

You were completely reading it wrong, anon has not yet found out about this thread. my post was moreso about if they did, there could be attacks, because they are able to do so, i only said it because some people were thinking that they arent able to do that.

I don't see why they'd feel compelled to do anything to us. As mentioned by someone else, we seem to champion many of the same causes and we've never done anything to stifle their right to speak.

Anyway I must also admit that before ATS, I had never heard of such groups like "Anonymous". I actually thought that this was something about the Johnny Anonymous representitive perpetrating some type of hoax.

Giving this one a bump.

I have the feeling that a similar attempt to hoax a mass UFO is underway as we speak.

It coincides with the supposed October 13 mass sightings.

I don't think it's a full on coordinated hoax, more of an attempt by many attention seeking idiots out there trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

October 13th was probably 4chans target after the GFOL Blossom Goodchild hoax and the Prediction by a certain ex NORAD official. Perhaps the twitter stuff was all 4chan gimmicks. And i would not put it past Anon to launch balloons in the NYC area. If they can do demonstrations against Scientology why not use the same manpower for the LULZ?

As I told a friend of mine, this will fail.

There are waaay to many hoaxes floating about. They would only be adding more to a huge pile of hoaxes already in place. If this by some miracle gets off,

Worse case scenario: people believe in UFO's more than they used to and that may not be so bad considering it would actually speed up first contact because humanity will believe even if it was a hoax.

How is this any different than all the hoaxes debunked here in ATS anyways?
