looking back at my childhood, being taught in a catholic primary school, it seems to me that my education was all geared up to brainwashing me towards the catholic faith.

it has taken me to the age of 30 to break those shackles, and when i mean break i mean totally break.

brainwashing children is wrong.

fear mongering on a forum is a little bit wrong too.

In the same website you quoted the meaning from faith:
FAITH:

2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.

Doesn't that fit atheism?

Not at all!!

Atheism is the DISBELIEF in something because of the ABSENCE of PROOF or EVIDENCE. There is no evidence, or logical proof...so atheists draw the logical conclusion that there is no God...unless someone can prove them wrong.

Their opinion is based on the absence of facts that would prove them wrong.

Religious folk chose to believe in something without any facts or evidence. THAT's true, blind and obedient BELIEF.

No. It only fits the false Christian belief in what atheism is. It does not fit what it actually is. Christians have to tell a lot of stories to keep up their faith. Giant bones have been found, the Earth is only 6000 years old, dinosaur bones were planted by a just and loving god to confuse us about him, atheists BELIEVE in something they cannot prove, If it is bad but we can fix it, god is proud of us - if it is bad and we cannot fix it, god made it happen that way for a reason, etc., blah, lie, falsehood, misconception.

You see the pattern.

It is frightening that a new atheism thread popped up this morning and by yet another person who did not know what it meant. Any of you that wish to opine on it, could you not benefit from the knowledge of what it was?

When you are born, you do not believe in God, Santa, or the Boogey Man.

You are at that point an atheist. If you happen to be told there is a god, as most people are at some point, and decide to wait for more proof, you are still the same atheist before anyone mentioned god.

Faith has nothing to do with religion

Faith-belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion

So Rebel, are you try'in to have it both ways here? Which would mean you're most likely losing your mind, right on this thread. Or are you just losing your mind right here on this thread?

Or maybe I could use a Lil help. I mean am I missing something here?

Guntherson what's wrong? Nobody wants to debate or for that matter even talk to you. So now those bad ole Christians are all liars right?
Murderers theives
So pathetic.

No I'm not losing my mind. I already lost it when I became a Christian. Finally I found when I denounced my faith.

The Devil's greatest accomplishment might be that he convinced the world that he does not exist...but
God's greatest mistake might be failing to convince the world that he actually does exist.

Think about that one.

Ok, have you seen any actual evidence that a miracle has ever been performed?

Can you explain why you say there are only 18,000 species of land animals on Earth?

Have you ever seen the god you believe in?

Remember, deflection, lies, insults are just as good as uh.....uhhhh. uhhhh..... uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........

So....it has been 57 minutes and you have been logged in the whole time.

How much longer before we can count you as stumped?

Creationists see everything in the world, that is around them.

Because everthing that is around them, was created.

Atheist close their eyes to everything that was created.

As if everything was created around them.

You guys are boring, I'm going back to my life.
Good luck with yours. Oh sorry.
