Terrible Hallucinations Caused By Tiny Tumor On Ovaries

I was shocked when I read this article about a woman who was having symptoms that appeared to be mental but turned out to be caused by a tiny tumor on her ovaries less than a centimeter in diameter.

I wonder how many people have had this kind of tumor and were hospitalized with suspected mental illness.

she had a tumor that caused her to hallucinate, she thought she was pregnant and she saw a kid in the house that she thought was her's!!!!

How about the part where she said to bring a priest to exorcise the demons out of her. Pretty bad hallucinations, and the "Lunging" at people was also a classic schizophrenia symptom.

And this is most disturbing question:

"How many women, as recently as the 1950s and 1960s, were institutionalized with this because people thought they were schizophrenic?" Richards asked.

I just wonder, why the doctor is mentioning just 50s-60s period, while this trouble was properly diagnosed at 2007?
