I think what needs to be pointed out here is how these two individuals are complete polar opposites in their delivery.

In one corner we have, what most people would agree, an extremely intelligent male who can't seem to give an off the cuff speech and relies entirely on his teleprompter.
In the other corner we have, what most people would agree, an extremely brainless female who can give an off the cuff speech using a few bullet points written on her hand.

The end result, both are extremely effective speakers!
...therein lies the paradox.

I hate it when I agree with you. Please stop doing that!
Very well-said.

And the fact that Obama can't give a speech without a teleprompter is as meaningless as the fact that Sarah Palin can. Neither means anything. It doesn't mean Obama's stupid and it doesn't mean Palin is smart.

But the comparison between the two is actually VERY different my friend. What Obama reads is written FOR him. What Palin was reading was written BY her.

The quote above sums it up perfectly.

Obama can't even appear in front of 5th graders without his teleprompter, and even with his teleprompter he still can't pronounce corpsman correctly.

BTW...did he ever visit all 57 states yet?

If only it were true... :shk: Obama takes an active part in the writing of his speeches. Palin didn't even write her own book!

Obama can't even appear in front of 5th graders without his teleprompter...

Also not true. You must have left the thread before the truth was found out.

I am no fan of Sarah Palin, but really, I don't see the big deal.

What is her message, that is what is important. Not where she wrote it down or how she reads it. It's what she is saying.

This is not important breaking political news in my opinion.

No, but what it does mean is that TPTB are testing the waters and prepping the next puppet.
The more she gets ridiculed, the more painful it will be for those to accept her.
Stab and twist that dagger.

The difference is that all of you Palin-o-phobes (like it?) are attacking someone who is not an elected official and thus lacks the power to really screw things up as obama has shown.

Hmmmm. To be clear she is a former elected official, hence public figure = fair game.

She's just someone going around making speeches.

In the same way Mt. Everest is just a mole hill. She has made clear overtures as to her future political ambitions. Once again, contender = fair game.

As OP, I agree this might not be "Breaking Political News." Unfortunately there is no category for "Polarizing Enigma in High Heels."

No, but there is a category called "US Political Madness".

Madness is often used synonymously with mental illnesses such as phobias.

As in palinophobia.

Please move the thread to the correct category ...

I can't stand this woman get her off the TV off the Internet off everything. She is so ignorant to world politics. she has the mentality of a high school student. I'm so sick of stumbling upon her in the news. where's white Jesus when you need him?

If her speech went "Energy," "Budget Cuts," "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" , thank you.

then I would concede that she has less brain power than Obama, but since it went into a little more detail, I am still on the fence.

Robert Gibbs Mocks Palin ‘Hand Notes’ From White House Podium

www.breitbart.tv...

Totally inappropriate, IMHO, for a man of Gibbs, standing,(cough), to do this.

That only happens if the subject is Obama.

Did Gibbs offer any comments or insight into obama's mis-pronunciation of the word "corpsman" as "corpse-man" not just once, but several times in a recent speech?

A Freudian slip, perhaps, showing obama's inner thoughts on sending an additional 30,000 troops to afghanistan?

Another Glib Gibbs classic. Inappropriate? Yes.
I truly don't understand why the Press Corpse just don't bum rush his podium when he let's the arrogance fly like this.

Press corpse ...

That's a really good one. But could obama pronounce it correctly?

Crib sheets - Body Parts
• Hands/Arms: the old standby! Write on your hands or arms and hide it from the professor with hand position or sleeves. The webbing between the fingers is a good place.

I'm not sure Ms. Palin could rub two brain cells together and spark an original idea, rather she parrots the tired, old, worn out party hyperbole.

Those of you defending this as normal or no big deal...are you serious?

No politician that I've heard of has been caught doing this before, which says a couple of things...

1. She didn't want anyone to know she'd done it or she would have brought out notes.
2. She was too clumsy to hide it properly and was caught out by her detractors.

Seriously guys, love Palin or hate her, this is a total CLOWN SHOES move!!!!

Stuff like this makes it impossible to be taken seriously, and she already has a credibility issue with at least half of the country (the half that live in Fake America, not the half that live in Real America).

She did something stupid. Accept it and move on.

Pardon Palin for not traveling with a $4,000 teleprompter with her. Perhaps she didn't have any note cards with her when she was brainstorming in the bathroom prior to her speech. No foul here.

You phobics make it appear as though she was caught cheating on her MCATS.
or LSATS more likely.
