What would Obama have to do in order for you to think he was a good president?

Ah, Barack Obama, the 1st in what will no doubt be a long list of presidents with foreign sounding names and foreign-looking agendas. Barack authored a book he named "The Audacity Of Hope" before he became president. I understand that while he was on vacation in Hawaii he began his next tome, a sequel with the working title of: "The Mendacity Of Promising Change And Delivering The Same Old B.S."! I agree completely. Worst president ever. Way worse than Bush 2.0, who at least gave you the courtesy of letting you know he was all about screwing you over, just like his Daddy did before him! Bush completely misrepresented his real agenda in his initial presidential campaign, but he had the bogus 9-11 "terrorist" attacks to blame for his reversal on policies like international non-intervention and no nation-building. Obama has no such excuse for his promise reversals. He just lays them out there and let's you suck on the betrayal. He's a bigger creep than all of the Bush family put together. Let's all get togethr and make this jackass the one-termer he deeply deserves to be. From now on vote 3rd partywhenever you can. It's high time we abolished the fake "Two-Party System" for a system that offers voters real choices.

If he would start telling the real truth, then commit ritual suicide on pay-tv, taking Congress with him.

I'd pay to watch that.

Expose corrupt politicians, force congress to repeal the Patriot Act, halt cap and trade, healthcare, end both wars and put those troops on the border, take steps toward starting up US industry again and lowering taxes so buisness comes back. Revamp the military with more efficent vehicles as money allows. Stop social programs for a 1 year to pay off debts, lessen gun control laws, encourage local governments to get rid of bad cops, repeal no child left behind...and the list goes on. Basically anything that would make sense he needs to do I might then call him a good president. But I don't see that happening.

It is real simple in order for me to think he is a good president is for him to tell

the truth and follow thru with the openness doctrine he preached to be elected.

To quit apologizing to the world how bad America has been to the rest of the

world. To help the small business owners above the fat cat banks. To create

real jobs and innovations thru our superior technology and manufacturing

capabilities. Quit thinking everything is about him and start putting America and

it's legal citizens first.



Open up his school records to the public that he has been hiding.

To get rid of the fat cat lobbyist that buy off our Congress. Get back to honest

capitalism and away from his socialistic agenda. Let Americans be the decision

makers about their own health care. obama and his administration must

abide by the Constitution Of The United States Of America and quit trying to

break our Sacred Constitution. Cut spending and cut the budget in half, get

rid of the fat pork barrel projects and downsize the centralized government

substantially. Lower taxes to stimulate the economy. This would be a good

start to thinking he was a good president.

Wow, so one has to preface jokes here on ATS. I would have thought the obvious absurdity of such a statement would come through. I guess ATS is only for the self righteous, the judgemental and, above all, the humorless.

Absolutely as you came off very serious. There are people on both sides with that very type of thinking.

Anyone that knows me would know that if you came back with a more tactful response I would have offered an apology for not seeing your written joke. The written word does not convey demeanor or intention as does the spoken.

Now this is a loaded question unto itself. But here is what President Obama would have to do to show me he is a good President:
1) Be a leader. It was not until after the christmas day attempted bomber that he started to actually show he was a leader, so far he has been passing the buck and not being a good leader, not showing vision or drive for the country. Make a decision and make it quickly, then stick by it. And take responsiblity for those he has hired, be it good or bad.
2) Stop trying to tell me how I should live. I know how I should live, I know how I like to live, but to tell me through policies how I should live just is not going to make me a fan, if anything it will send me to the other side.
3) Close down the white house to all who are not in the Federal Government. I think it is ridiculous that the head of a UNION is visiting the President of the United States as much as he has.
4) Get the correct people into the positions who know what they are doing and are not questionable to the majority of the public. Most of his advisors have no experience right now in running a business and all of the decisions that are being made are bad for business and the country on a whole.
5) Stop SPENDING MONEY. We can not afford the debt that is being accumulated. We send money to countries who do not like the US, well I say cut that spending and guess what you can apply that to either the debt or to fund a pet project or 2.
6) Make an executive order banning all LOBBIEST AND SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS FROM DC.
Those are the top 6 on my list right now though there are more.

All he would need to do IMO is follow the constitution as intended, and start to restoring the constitution and so forth. He could ask Ron Paul what he needed to do if needed.

I'm really not that hard to please and don't really expect too much from the government. But something is wrong when it's more of a burden then it is helpful.

To me, if he stopped trying to spend his way out of this depression, I would be a lot more content.

Maybe get out of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Oh and get rid of Rhom Emanuel. I mean dayum, that dude is creepy, and not like a Dick Cheney creepy either.

Demand marijuana prohibition in every state.
Demand homosexual marriage ban in every state.
Punish states that do not comply.

- End the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

- Close Guantanamo Bay

- Abolish the Federal Reserve fractional banking system

- Repeal the Patriot Act


That would be a start. Even if he accomplished one of these, it would change my opinion of him.

That post actually says a great deal of NOTHING about what Obama's 1) done or 2) what he's trying to do in office. Nobody thinks he can walk on water, please man - come off it!

The healthcare system for a start is a joke and it's getting to the point now where people are denied cover simply because they changed hair colour (yes, without declaring it - can you believe that!?). I know our (UK) system isn't perfect but there's only one thing worse than getting sick - and that's WORRYING about getting sick - and I don't because of it (our system)!

Secondly, the ban on lobbyists, though it could be stronger, has got to be good and I wish to God that our (UK) Government would grow a pair and do the same. By the way, Sarah Palin, who's legislated for Oil companies would struggle for credibility under the criteria set out in Obama's anti-lobbying rules. Think on that next time she "galvanises the part base".

Also, as for sending troops to Afghanistan - why that's exactly where the US SHOULD have been "fighting terrorism" for the past eight and a half years - IF THE OFFICIAL STORY IS BELIEVED, that is.

On the flip-side, you had some hillbilly who somehow got to lead the country, TWICE, trying to finish what his Daddy couldn't finish 12 years prior - all the while he was banging on (LYING) about WMDs and then, STILL had the bare faced cheek to turn to Amrica's citizens and ask - nay, demand - for more of their sons and daughters to be killed for his cause - THREE YEARS AFTER it was established ther WERE NO WMDs at all - and I dont' care if you DID have the original receipts from the 1980's!!!

If he wanted me to think that he was a good president, he can start by doing a few things.

-If he wants any shred respect from me, first of all, he can stop being such a b****. Yeah, you inherited a mess, Barack. Guess what? You applied for the job. Shut up about Bush, quit crying like a baby, and do the job you were elected to do. Otherwise, resign and let someone take over who can.

-He can demand a balanced budget from Congress...one that accomplishes it by cutting spending, not raising taxes. Instead, he's spending this country into oblivion.

-He needs to realize that the federal government works for the people, the people do not work for the federal government. To that end, he can start by throwing his entire domestic agenda in the garbage, as it is the biggest load of controlling, nanny state crap that I've ever seen.

-He needs to publicly disavow this healthcare scam passing through Congress, apologize to the American people for ever supporting it, and veto the final legislation when it hits his desk.

-He needs to fire virtually all of the 'czars'. I don't mind that he has a few such advisors, its just that the ones he picks tend to be lunatics.

-If he wants his opponents to be less confrontational, he needs to throw them a bone once in a while. In reality, the animosity appears to be mutual. Obama has absolutely no interest in serving the people who didn't vote for him. When you ignore 47% of the country, and in many cases, jab a sharp stick in their eye, guess what? They're not going to like you very much. That's a shocking revelation, I know. Too bad they don't get it.

That would be a good start, but its only a start.

Boy the quantities of fallacies in this post.

Another thing Obama can do to improve his image in my view, he can tell the world to Kiss His A** and take care of itself.

Pull out all bases in the world that are not necessary for the protection of the US and then tell the world the US will not give money to the world any longer.

Isolate and take care of ourselves. How would that fit your ideals of what Obama can do for someone that is not even a citizen of the US.

As for the UN, pull the hell out and say grow up world. We have had enough.
