I'm Getting the Vaccine - Tonight.

An 11 year old student at my school died this week from H1N1. She had no other underlying illness. However, H1N1 is screaming through the school and so far it's been mild,, other than this death. Kids are returning to school after a few days. As a teacher I'm obviously in very close contact with these kids. I am not going to get the vaccine. By the time the vaccine is received here, most students will have already had H1N1.

Did you know that there are DOCTORS, and NURSES who are protesting and do not want to take the vaccine?

BTW, did you say you are from New York and they are not making the vaccinations mandatory? (NVM this question, I just saw that you were stating one of the states where healthcare workers are being ordered to take the vaccine is New York. BTW, there is more than one state where vaccination is mandatory, and your state could be next.)

Health care workers are planning to take to the streets Tuesday at a rally in front of the Albany, N.Y. state capitol to protest mandatory vaccination.

The rally is intended to call for "freedom of choice in vaccination and health care" and to protest mandatory vaccination for influenza and the H1N1 swine flu. "This vaccine has not been clinically tested to the same degree as the regular flu vaccine," Tara Accavallo, a registered nurse on Long Island, told Newsday. "If something happens to me, if I get seriously injured from this vaccine, who's going to help me?"

While physicians, nurses, and medical technicians may not be known for their willingness to march on state capitols, a recent New York Department of Health requirement has sparked an unusually intense response. The August 13 regulations say that all health care workers who could potentially expose patients must be vaccinated for influenza by November 30 unless it would be "detrimental" to the recipient's health. (Any reprieve would be temporary and last only until injection with the vaccine would "no longer be detrimental.")

BTW, just because you are a healthcare worker, it doesn't make you a doctor, or a nurse, or even knowledgeable about this issue.

My father is a healthcare worker in Florida, yet he is a Chef, and not a nurse, or doctor. My mother used to be a nurse and she is not taking it, and is advising my father not to take it.

Now, let me give you something to think about which many of us already know.

How many people have died worldwide from the Swine Flu?...... According to official sources 4,100 and then we don't know if some of those deaths were cause by the vaccines. How long ago has the Swine flu been around? It has been at least 6 months now, more or less.

Anyway, do you have any idea how many people die IN THE U.S. ALONE from the regular flu?.... 36,000

So why has the UN, WHO, AL Gore and his momma claimed that the Swine Flu "will kill millions", when so far the WORLDWIDE deaths of the swine flu is NOWHERE near the yearly numbers of deaths in the U.S. alone from seasonal infuenza.

BTW, MILLIONS of Americans have already caught the virus, yet most haven't died and only a small, but unfortunate portion of about 600 have died.

BTW, how much help do you think the live virus which you are about to receive is going to help you if the virus transforms into a NEW strain like WHO claims it will do?

What you will be snorting into your nose is still a virus, and you want to allow them to give it to you?

I am not trying to stop you since it is your decision, but why don't you just allow youself to catch it normally, if you ever do, since you will have certainly the same result as snorting the live virus?

Couple of my thoughts on this. First of all, I'm a new guy, so hello. Secondly, all vaccines can be potentially dangerous, or even lethal. Especially live virus vaccines. The body is a huge chemistry set, and when we tinker with one aspect, it throws another one off. The seasonal flu vaccine is random anyway. They give a vaccine based on which virus they think will be the most prevalant during the season, but they miss sometimes. Has happened to me before, although I have gotten the flu from the vaccine too. The H1N1 is different because they are trying to target a specific virus, and with the implied pressure, more public backlash when the vaccine either dosn't work or (gasp!) has side effects. The flu can be serious business. Killed millions of people in the early 1900s. I could understand why they'd want to mandate a vaccine. Just like smallpox used to be a mandated vaccine. (and the smallpox vaccine sucks!!) My two cents, thanks.

I know, it's far from this vaccine, but I'm not going to take this one especially because my past experiences with vaccines. Not that I would take H1N1 shot even I if I wouldn't have any negative experiences. What I find to be a good thing is I can find it to be questioned allover Europe now. In Russia no one seems to give a damn about the whole H1N1 .. it seems they know it's not going to be a big problem and no one needs to be vaccinated because of that.

About that experience of mine though, I took Vaccine for hepatitis (a and b if I remember it correctly) and damn, I got several health issues because of that. Few days after taking it I got fever, skin problems, swollen joints and so on. I got big blisters into my fingers. I was not even able to use computer for a few days because of it. Damn bad for guitarist as well . I even fainted without any reason twice in the following weeks
. First and only times in my life that has happened so far.


Went back to see the doctor of course and he agreed it was caused by that vaccine but there's nothing that can be do about it and it would pass in time. 6 months after taking the shot those problems started to get better but I still have some skin problems in my fingers and all that because of that goddamn shot which was just precaution so I wouldn't get ill.

I'm glad I'm not forced to take it in this country where I'm staying now for next few months, I travel a lot though so my fear is they make it mandatory for people who come into the country to have this poison in your bloodstream.

Here in Canada the absolute first people to receive the first dosages are Aboriginal people, so that should tell you of the type of "guinea pig" social experiment going on.

BTW, the flu pandemic in 1918 and 1919 wasn't cause by vaccines, nor was it constricted the the US. It killed more than 50 millon people WORLDWIDE. Holy crap!

Vaccines may be good business, but they can be helpful too. Smallpox and polio are gone because of vaccines. And I'm sure people died from those vaccines too. Deaths when testing new treatment are regrettable but ultimatly inevitable.

Now that is an interesting question. I took my elderly parent to doctor 4 months ago to get the doc to check her heart. Doc just poo pooed my concern and said she was tired cause of her age and wouldn't do any tests. Last week she had a heart attack and had to have a stent. A word of caution to everyone: I remember what the first swine flu vaccine did to my sister in the 70's. Two days after she got it she was paralyzed for some time afterward. Doctors are not omnipotent. They are human, with the same mistakes, corruption, greed and don't care attitude as a lot of other humans.

Your implying that people who exercise their rights in not getting vaccinated are dirty?

Just like your exercising your right to choose to get the vaccine?

BTW, there are many strains of flu, just because you get vaccinated against one, doesn't mean you get vaccinated against all.

Now to the poster who said it is hearsay that this OP had the vaccine? Well guess what...so are the stories about the few dead kids we've heard. You can't have suspicion for one and not for the other just because the other story fits into your side of the argument.

I am getting mine soon (Air Force) and I am not scared one teensy bit.

Being a Diabetic, I have gotten the flu shot for years and years.. Still here, still just fine..

I'll be getting the H1N1 as well...
