Colony Collapse Disorder

This was recently brought to my attention and I just wanted to get the ATS community take on it.

It appears bees have been 'quietly' dying out over the past few years (at the rate of 8% per year in the US), and the cause is a bit of a mystery.

Some suggest that if bees become extinct, which may now happen in the next decade or two at most, man will not be able to survive for long after.

Here's one recent article that has the 60 minutes documentary embedded:

Radio waves also play a major part with the bee's decline also. Cells phones play a major part in this also, and where can you go anymore without a tower?

thanks, I guess I should have done a search first.

I'll join the discussion started by warrenb as the other threads didn't even make it to page 2.

My wife tells me that the bees suffer a sexually transmitted disease. (Not making a joke..do not delete)

Can we fix this?

This is an honest question.

There is also a disease that is killing bats and that is just as bad as the bees dying and there are no answers to any of these problems yet. There are a lot of theories as to why they are dying like nicotine in pesticides now.
