The late Charleton Heston's (Gun) Basement

The late great Charleton Heston's Basement.
Heston was very involved with the American Rifle Association
and the right to bear arms. Here is a display of his arsenal.

Jesus Christ! I am speechless. I am curious, but did he happen to live in a trailer park?

Good find. Thank you for sharing. I assume he is ready to take on the government all by himself.

I often wonder about the psychology behind 'over-compensation'; I mean, really.

Charlton love, if you can hear me, they were only films. The Apes weren't really going to take over. It was all pretend!

It is not really Mr Hestons basement. This is a fairly common internet hoax that has been circulating for years.

It is a real private gun collection though. They belonged to Bruce Stern In Connecticut until he passed away. At his death, most of the collection was auctioned off for charity and remains the highest grossing firearms auction to date.

Well, that guy was compensating for something! That is all I will say!

I'm curious as to what the commenters about compensation would do/collect/whatever if they came into a lot of money?

Like cars?
Ferrari, Mercedes etc.

Boats?
Sloop, Ketch, Yawl, trawler etc.

And so forth.

Doesn't make any difference what he or you spend your money on....

This isn't his basement, it's a private collection belonging to someone else.

I'm sure it will still give the Brits the fainting vapours though

Nice colection...

It reminds me of a museum when i was younger, and it had thousands of guns in it, from the beggining of gun history...

Rooms and rooms ground to the ceiling, full with guns, from every era...

awe inspriering...

Tiloke is right..The collection was Bruce Sterns, he was a very active member of the N.R.A, he was on the board of directors for years..I looked at some of the items online [Amazing] there was a pristine Borchardt pistol up for auction, but it went for $40,000. a little spendy for a beavertrapper/logger.. and just to clear things up Heston was president of the N.R.A. from 1998-2003,,, not the american rifle association.,,,and I believe alot of the proceeds went to the I.L.A fom the N.R.A. If you own a firearm or just believe in the 2nd amendment Join the N.R.A.,, already a member, give a membership to someone for christmas, nothing brightens up the holidays like the right to own guns, except maybe excercising that right by going out in back yard and shooting off a couple hundred rounds...ho/ho/ho
