Chavez says crisis-hit U.S. needs new constitution

sg.news.yahoo.com

Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez said on Saturday it was the capitalist system that had caused the financial crisis in the United States and the country should come up with a new constitution.

"It was capitalism that caused the ruin" in the United States, said Chavez,
"Let the U.S. empire end and let a great nation and great republic rise from the ruin ... It's time to shout 'Liberty!' again in the United States," Chavez said, calling for a new government to be free of the "dictat

Say what you want about this guy but he hits the nail on the head sometimes doesn't he. I wish more Americans would listen to what he is saying but everyone thinks he is a nutter so he will not have any crediability in the U.S.

There is no more United States of America. That country is dead now folks. You are living in a lie. The U.S. has collapsed and died. I'm am truly sorry.

How can you say that? Nail on the head? What does our Constitution have to do with the banking crisis (other than the fact that it has been completely ignored)? There is nothing about our Constitution that has anything at all to do with this. In fact, if these chuckleheads in DC had even remotely followed the Constitution we ALREADY have it's less likely we'd be in the predicament we're in. Let Hugo clean up his own mess before he pretends to know sh*t about our Constitution.

What we DO need is to pay more attention to our Constitution and MAKE politicians accounatble to it as they swore they would be when first put into office. As a nation we should be outraged and why we are not is a mystery.

We dont need a new constitution we need a new government. The problem is the government IS NOT abiding by the constitution and now we find ourselves where we are. Everyone in government needs to be tried for treason.

I don't agree with him in the slightest. Our constitution is one of the finest works of men in the name of one's rights that has ever been drafted. They take into account our personal protection, taxing our labors, fair checks and balances, and protection in regards to trial rights.

The only downside of our constitution is that these people are allowed to weasel their way in and compromise the rights for every single one of us. There's usually a money trail leading to central banks, special interests, or greedy politics.

If anything, we don't need a new draft. We just need to abide by the one we have, both citizens and government. We also need to veto the money laundering amendment "ratification."

I was referring to the fact that capitalism has brought down our once great country, not necessarily that we should adopt a new constitution. I believe the one we have would work just fine if we would follow it.
Like I said, Chavez hits the nail on the head "sometimes".
Sorrry for the confusion.

It has nothing to do with capitalism. I used to think the same way, but studying our economy the past few years (after watching "From Freedom to Fascism") I have gained a new found respect for raw capitalism.

What you're seeing in this bubble collapse is closer to socialism or communism than it is any form of capitalism. If this was true capitalism, we'd watch these banks fall all over themselves. Also, true capitalism without the Federal Reserve and the government safety net, these banks wouldn't have been in the same position they are now to wreak this kind of havoc.

The problem is America is not "fixing her own".
America is collapsing and most people on the outside can see why.
But I suppose I would rather live in the fairytale dreamland that most Americans live in when I think about it. I suppose we'll be just fine and the government will figure this whole mess out.

I sincerely hope that one day we as a whole will be free of that type of mentalty. "put a bullet through his head"? Really?Have we not learned anything at all?
Thast type of John Wayne attitude is what got us into the mess we're in right now in the middle east. I am sure that you are a certifiable card carrying bad-ass but there is no reason to blow someones head off because of the views they hold.

I think that that is what Chavez is alluding to. That the Constitution hasn't been adhered to and the loopholes used to allow that to occur within our government need to be corrected.

This Financial crisis DOES have everything to do with the Constitution. The entire problem has been caused by excessive debt. Debt caused by the Govt borrowing excessive amounts of money from a privately owned Bank called the Federal Reserve bank.
The Constitution gave the Congress the Right to Coin Money. Which meant creating money from the assets belonging to the Treasury and not out of thin air as the FED does and lending it to the Govt.

This creating money out of thin air has allowed Government spending to get out of control because there is no conceivable limit as to how much money the Govt. can borrow from the FED. The FED merely creates more debt. And sells it to foreign governments such as the Chinese and Japanese.

Now that the foreign government has seen what type of jam we're in they've lost confidence in our debt and our ability to repay and refuse to purchase it. Now there is no more funding coming in to fund our debt which is what the REAL crisis is all about.

Hugo Chavez has been touted as a cook, lunatic because he won't take it up the A** by the US Oil Cartel and allow these criminals to profit off of his nation's oil.
He was also the only nation that took initiative to donate heating oil to the elderly trying to exist on Social Security here in the US last winter when our own Government did nothing but raise prices.
These are people who defended our nation in WWII I might add and are now being kicked to the curb because their fixed income is being eaten up by inflation.
Another product of our Federal Reserve monopoly money currency system.

That is exactly 100% correct.
The constitution is fine, the people running the country don't use it.
There is no need for a new constitution in fact this idiot saying this is stupidity.
Bush and his buddy's would jump at the chance to write a new unfair constitution.
Its the constitution that is supposed to protect people but if the leaders go around it then it cant.
And the fact they go around it and don't abide by it means YES they should be tried for treason.

Ok, let me set the record straight, and this is no personal attack, this is truth. If you agree with Chavez on this you are a complete and utter idiot. Capitalism did not cause the "down fall" of America...as far as I can see America is still standing. There has been no "down fall," this is a global issue, it is not an American issue, European economies are much worse off than we are, trust me. Capitalism needs some over sight, just to prevent fraud...but this crisis has been created by Washington, for forcing banks to lend to people who can't afford it, then shooting down bills that would have avoided the problem because there is a 2 party system that is corrupt and polar. The U.S. Constitution is one the most important documents ever created, and you don't simply get a new Constitution, which shows how stupid Chavez is, you can Amend to the current one. So to those who agree with Chavez, pardon my criticism, but you deserve it...you're a complete idiot. Go read "The Federalist Papers."

America's constitution is fine, what American needs is for the people of this nation to get enough cojones to get rid of the hold of the banking elite and the Federal government once and for all.

Indeed our constitution is fine. What we need is quite a few amendments to it. Then we all need to learn what the darn thing says and force our government to abide by it.

How many of you know how many articles their is in the constitution? I am sure some of you reading this are like me and can quote the federalist papers if one so chooses. But then their are other who do not even know the Bill of rights. We have been conditioned this way. Voluntary public education was a good thing. Enforced public education is a socialist/communist ideal and has done quite a good job at political indoctrination. We learn to say the pledge but fail to be taught our constitution....

But nothing is gonna change under this regime. The government we have now prefers the system they have created as opposed to the true constitutional system. No, the only thing that will change this system is a revolution, a revolution that this current government is inviting upon itself through its actions.

The problem is that they know we are going to revolt and have made prearations for it! They are one step ahead of us. or two or three maybe four who knows how far they are ahead of us.
Mark my words.....

"There WILL be a bloody American Revolution and it will give them what they wanted all along... A justifiable reason to clamp the F**K down on those who are "left" (pun intended). This will not only happen in our lifetimes but my guess is within the next 12 mos.
Any takers?
