Mel Gibson has Directed the movie "THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST" and has put up 25 million of his own money to make it.

I have been looking forward to this film and am going to view it within the next couple of days.

I find It odd that many people are bashing this film for it raw and violent content. Yet these same critics are the ones the gave movies like "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" a half way descent grade and rating. I think that it's odd that we feed on fictional and real violence on television, news and movies, But when we have a movie created about the life of a person that preached love and respect that was murdered, we shun it and say it is over the top.

Your comments would be appretiated.

Mel is going to make a fortune off this. Such a huge target audience, basically all Christians and probably most Jews will want to see this.

Trust an Aussie to think of that clever ploy!

I'm hearing more and more news reports of entire churches renting out the theatres to take whole congregations out to see this movie !

Yeah, Mel will make so much more than the 25 million that he spent !!

wish I would have thought of this idea, oh I don't have 25 mil.

oh well.

Hell no I'm not going to see it. I've been through 12 years of Catholic school and I've been forced to watch enough Jesus crap. I'm sure as hell not going to willingly see more of it.

What do you have to say about the Last Temptation of Christ?

I'm getting tired of this.

On the violence issue, If you go into most churches the cross you see is either a barren cross or a cross with Christ on it but only little blood and a few wounds. Its not a great representation of what happened. The truth is that being beaten and then crucified is bloody and gut wrenching. Mel decided to show it like it is and I say good work.
