Hessdalen Phenomena

Hi there,

I am trying to demonstrate to the French scientist community (to some at least) that the H.P (Hessdalen Phenomena) is real. In order for me to do so, I am in contact with the different scientists involved in these studies. Unfortunatly, none of them answered a very specific question I had for them.

We are actually reviewing one case that occurred on September 20th 2007.

I am asking anyone who understands Norwegian to help me understand
what has been said in the newspapers in the link above.

My question is very simple, did these students see these light(s) with their own eyes ?

But if someone feels like doing a quick resume that would be deeply appreciated.

Edit : OOoops before I forget, we did spot a second anomaly on this photograph (using Stellarium) :

I noticed that there's an italian researcher, Renzo Cabassi, and Italian Committe for Project Hessdalen : if you want, i may try to contact them in order to pose the questions that you want to pose., or to invite one of them to join this discussion

It was quite much text so I wont do a resume I believe.
Norwegian is similar to Swedish and from what I saw here:

they observed a light that turned out to be an aircraft.

It is quite unclear though since www.hessdalen.org...
seems to be a description of the same group of teenagers and the same project and here it says that they saw an unidentified light phenomena.

The description of this particular phenomena seems not to be explained by an aircraft though, but the text in such is written so it is hard to get whether this is the same phenomena described in the two articles.

The author of the article at the bottom seems to be [email protected] so maybe you could mail and ask him.

I did send him an email today, le's wait and see what he'll tell us...

I just hope that we'll get the full "spectrum" on this event...

The article with the photo in question doesnt really say much. They saw it with their own eyes, this light was apparently especially bright compared to others. They've taken soil samples, something about bacteria in the area being lower than normal and possible radiation from the phenomena (could be acidic ground too).

kickass, i emailed Mr. Renzo Cabassi, and i hope he'll join ATS.
In the meantime, it would be great to contact someone else too, incase

Hi there,

I did send already a few emails to Erling Strand (only one answer from him),
Professor Bjorn Hauge from Science Camp (never answered any of my mails) and the Italian Astrophysician Massimo Teodorani. He did answer me twice.

The people I am working with regarding the 2009 expedition are well-known French skeptics and authors of a book and various scientific articles regarding official ufology (GEIPAN) & Crop-Circles reproductibility, etc...) They are Zeteticians to be exact.

My strategy is very simple, working with the toughest skeptics to try to prove
them that the H.P (Hessdalen Phenomena(s) ) is real and that UAPs are a real phenomena that needs the proper budgets to be studied seriously.

Easy to say hard to do as always...

Thanks Merka for your help. Did they say the "star" like object was moving or not ? Are you sure they did not talk about airplane lights by any chance ?

Europa733, Renzo Cabassi kindly answered:
he says thanks, but he's too busy to join the discussion (not just this specific one, the discussion forums in general); he wrote that their amount of work increased in the last years, but they are as many people as at the start of the project;
he also pointed out that they have four internal mailing lists, and that they
have to write the articles and many other tasks.
Basically, they are sharing the results of their work on the websites and on the blog that i'm going to link below. And these were the bad news.
The good news is that they are available to provide answers to specific
questions: so i guess that a good solution may be to make a list of unanswered questions and subit it to them.
This topic is worthy to be studied, imho, and i'm also convinced that the whole phenomena is far from being explained.
I'll keep on checking their blogs websites because i find them interesting to say the least.
Sorry for not being useful, that's all i've been able to do so far

Nothing about any "star" or it moving. I can translate some, here's a part:

"It began at around 9 with a strong northern light [presumably "nordlys"]. Half an hour later there was a couple XXX [no idea what "skikkelige lysutbrudd" is] right in front of us when we where at the research station. After that it was quiet for almost half an hour, when it suddenly went bang [dunno if they are talking about a sound or just a figure of speech] and this great light phenomena appeared on the night sky over Hessdalen. Its the most extraordinary we've ever photographed and the photo is among the best that's been taken of similar lights in the whole world. The phenomena was both intensive and unique, says Hauge. In addition to our observations, the phenomena was also registered on radar and the instruments of the two [or no number, dunno] Italian scientists."

While it is very rough, there are no mention of anything "star like" or how the light behaved.
