Seriously, I am not talking about video games or fiction books. It is an honest question that I really need a answer to. It will help me determine how many people know about them.

I would very much like it for someone to respond even if they have no idea what a Xanian is.

I do not know what xanian (but it does sound familiar) is but might it have something to do with "xanthian" ? I dont really know what the other word means also but it sits in my head for ages (and I mean since I can remember) pooping in and out at random (ie me walking down a street , working on the computer , drinking with friends , etc...) .

tried to do a search, but by what I gather, all I get is references to a some kind of game??

which is interesting, since I grew up with a unusual attraction to dawnstar, and it doesn't have anything to do with the comics as far as I know.

with enough searching, I did find a company connected to that word, although I have no idea what that company does, seems to be involved in websites and such if I am remembering right. but, there's is a remote possibility that the gov't has a project dawnstar, or will in the distant future, and well, it won't have anything to do with the comic either really...

I did have the opportunity of a gov't agents about this word, and well, he acted kind of funny, and then diverted to another topic, so who knows.

isn't it the slang for 'Christian'?
similar to how X-mas is used in place of Christmas?

~?~

or its gamers jargon, that i remained un-enlightened with

Haha.

Xania is a transliteration of the name of a town in Crete, more famously known for being the main town for of one of Crete's two international airports:

Χανιά

Thus a Xanian is an inhabitant of Xania. It's terriby prosaic and nothing to do with elves and so on...

The travel industry uses an alternative transliteration of "Chania" - for us poor Westerners who can't get our mouths round them there foreign words (innit?) - possibly influenced from the old Venetian name for the town, "Canea".

Looks a quite nice place:

www.travelinfo.gr...

Xania is also an archaic shorthand for Oslo (capital of Norway, as it was formerly known as Kristiania from 1624-1924). Citroen released a mdel called the Citroen Xania. And finally, Xania is a christian name in some parts of Europe or further afield (and a character from a Pink Panther film).

The word seems to have been picked up and used for other things by various fiction writers over the years though. I guess it sounds good.

Cheers.

Rob.

What makes you think it has deeper meaning than in fiction anyway?

To the person who hentioned the city, nice but that city is actually named AFTER the thing I am looking for.

P.S. To the person who talked to the government agent: Are you serious? Did he actually react? Please post more details.

Again, good info but... I already knew that. I am looking for a "Xanian" as in a word you could use to describe a person not an inhabitant of an area. But I am amazed you found that much info on it (took me 5h+ of searching to find nothing)

so it's a TH sound, not a Z sound?

I know I've seen Zeta spelled Xeta.

I've never heard of it, but it kinda sounds like a bird.

That "th" sound only occurs in the middle like Xan-th-ia. The th has a very quiet inflection on it.

Xanians are not religious people in the least. Christians used to burn them at the stake.

Do you mean me? I mentioned Xania (as well as Oslo). History of Xania here:

www.chania.gr...

Are you trying to draw in relevance to Minoan Kydonia / Kythonia - the foundations of Xania?

Or the meaning of the word itself, which appears to mean "a place to be happy , a place to rest", or "grace of the Lord" or "favoured grace", if you use Arab/Hebrew roots? Or means something like "Spirit Warrior" in Hopi Indian? it's also a Chinese fmeale name but no idea what it means in that context...

How much more digging do you want?

Or are you instead wanting to talk about the sort of stuff in this earlier thread on here, where you yourself told us what you think it all means:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Cheers.

Rob.

How much more could be uncovered if posters here didn't play this hard to get guessing game? Why make people waste time doing research that you supposedly have already done? Are you Sam as well? Is it just an attempt to gets points or something? Please help me understand? Mods, why do you allow people to jerk around like this? Several FOIFA could have been examined in the time people wasted researching this. I come here less and less because of this juvenile behavior. I know 'good riddance and all' but don't let the new found commercialism destroy the basis of this site.

I just might be interested in a Xanian if I knew what it was.

Spirit warrior is closer and I WILL tell you all what I think it "means" and by that I mean what I know it is, once I have the immense amount of time required to write it all out :bnghd:

It is very interesting and I bet a lot of you may know what it is but you may now know the name of it.

HINT!!!: It has to do with "unique" people. Hmm what could it be??? You will know soon enough...

Calm down... you'll have a heart attack if you don't.

I don't need points that badly because I have no real need to customize my profile any more that I already have. I joined ATS to be able to discuss certain "weird" (according to most normal people) subjects. I will tell you all when I finish writing it all down in Microsoft word and put it in a post OK?

Just calm down a bit...
