Administrative Oversight

I've requested administrator permission before posting IP addresses, since that constitutes disclosing member information which is normally kept private.

Permission may or may not be forthcoming, but the evidence is there for them to review.

One small question. Why didn't this end at least 4 pages ago? It was obvious the guy knew NOTHING about computers. The guy was talking about things which he had truly limited knowledge of. This brings up the issue of ATS just being spammed with hoaxes lately, why are they trying to target us more and more?

I feel a slight sadness thinking this moron will be reading all these posts happy he caused so much trouble.

To be clear to the guy who faked this, you are a moron, you have been discovered as such and obviously you are nowhere near as smart as you thought. Accept the fact and move along, hoaxes just cause people to waste their valuable time. Please don't come back with something you think is better, as i already said, we have people here who are experts in various fields and who can rip apart any video or picture, people who have served in the military and know the procedures and people like me who are very boring and mess with computers, electronics and others things all day.

I love the fact that ATS has so much expertise in one place.

This thread is an example of what not to do when reviewing submitted information with or without data. Submitted data should be give the benefit of doubt until sufficient information is submitted and reviewed by members who volunteer to provide their expertise. The data would be submitted to a separate site and left for inspection. Once inspected, then questions could be asked of the submitter with rebuttal.

I don't know if the data is fake or not. This would be potentially classified data and could get the submitter in serious trouble. The poster might be trying to avoid this by being vague. The verbal assault on the poster by members of the forum without a serious data review is not appropriate and is detrimental to anyone who has legitimate data and would post it here. After what I have read, I would doubt that anyone with legit. data would bring it here. Someone not used to being treated like he or she was could lose their temper.

I wouldn't blame the submitter from not responding - the judgement is already in that it's a fake after agreement from some of the main posters on the board (why go through more attacks).

I would hope that anyone with sensitive data use another venue for submission than this site.

A Long Fifteen Minutes Has Ended

Sometimes, in my desire to be up-front and transparent, I overdo it. Okay, oftentimes.

Such is the case here and, after receiving good advice from a member I respect, I'm bringing down the curtain on this puppet show.

1. I will not be posting IP addresses. Even in cases like these, it's best they remain private.

2. However, the IP addresses of all three hoax accounts have matched repeatedly and in ways which virtually eliminate all doubt about what's going on here.

3. I have banned these accounts for hoaxing: thefinaltheory, necroflesh and necroticflesh.

Compare that to the other posts made by this same person in different guises, and I think that pretty much explains the motives of this particular hoaxer, anyway.

Yes, It's A Hoax

Wherever possible, I prefer to leave the question of whether to believe or disbelieve a story like this to each member to decide.

It's a core value of ATS, and that's a value which will never change.

However, speaking as both a member and a moderator, I'm thoroughly satisfied that this is a hoax, and a rather poor hoax at that.

I'm sure it got more attention than it ever deserved, but even in a field like UFOlogy where hoaxes are so common, it's important to investigate them, because only by doing so is there any chance of verifying cases which are not hoaxes.

As always, I welcome your questions and comments about this case and my handling of it.

I actually view this thread as an excellent example of how ATS should work. Especially in the moderation department. Because that is exactly what happened. Moderating. I've been vocal previously that more moderation is needed in some forums to keep things on the rails, and so when it really works, as it has here, then I need to publicly recognise that. So to Majic, thanks for the way you have run this thread, despite pressure from both sides you have remained neutral, given opportunity for people to voice their opinions, but once the proof was undeniably, the hammer came down. A big hats off from me (guess you don't have to head to Saigon now... )

actually i was gonna say that it looks like something from Jane's Simulators..that you can buy on PC (theres like a tank one a bunch of helicopters ones and yeah)

Now that it has been determined to be a hoax what happens next? I realize it has garnered a lot of attention (and a significant waste of time). As a newbie here I am interested to know what the disposition will be of the originator of this hoax (intentional or not). I too am very curious and enjoy the professionalism displayed by those who study these cases and give their insight, however, hoaxes do detract from the honest and truly interesting information posted here on ATS.

while i would like to aknowledge the fact that this video does not line up with the log, and this guy does not have any track record, i would like to point out that the vision unlimited link he posted goes to a german film site that compiles and produces film projects, they dont do CGI, and although the images are hazy, i do believe the footage to be genuine as a pilot. however, i cannot verify that the footage is or is not genuine.

firstly - the dates do not corolate - in one post TFT says 2005 , then 2004

the " ADEX " referenced in the new documents is :

Air Defence EXercise .

which are regularly conducted

this blows the initial narrtative by TFT out the water

remember how he claimed that events started @ 23:00 , when " every one was in bed "

" event 3 " started life as a routine ADEX segment - which has been edited after the fact

the proof is [ for " event 3 ":
