Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed his interest in offering Scott Parker an escape route from Chelsea.

The England international has sunk down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho and he has made just one substitute appearance this season.

The 23-year-old has stated his willingness to fight for his place, but the chance of regular first team football elsewhere is likely to appeal.

Moyes, who has been a long-tern admirer of the former Charlton star, is considering a possible deal.

"We were interested in Scott Parker before he went to Chelsea and he would be a player we would consider if he became available again because he is a very good player," Moyes told the Liverpool Daily Post.

"Whether we could afford him or get him is a different matter."

Moyes is set to be handed a substantial transfer kitty in January following the sale of Wayne Rooney and the securing of new funds by chairman Bill Kenwright.

i think there been jose mourinho saying he will get a chance at the bridge, and if it true charlton interested, and he happens to move on, i think charloton would be his ideal place to go, although it might be hard returning to the club who made him

everton sound like they have the money, and they are doing well..so maybe,

Yeah there has been talks of him moving back to the Valley.

I think he is a real good player and by going to Chelsea, it has put a stop on his career. He needs to move and maybe Everton would be a good choice with the way they are playing. It all depends on what sort of money Chelsea would be asking for.

Everton would be a good move, playing under Moyes would kick start his game.

Everton's hopes of signing Scott Parker in January look to have improved with Charlton ruling out a return to The Valley for the midfielder.

Parker, who moved to Stamford Bridge from the Addicks in January, has made just one substitute appearance under new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho this season.

It had been thought the 23-year-old would be ready to risk the wrath of the Charlton faithful - who had turned against him in the last weeks of his Valley career - and rejoin Alan Curbishley's side in January for a cut-price fee of £5m.

But Charlton are believed to have gone off the idea, with the relationship between the clubs having worsened initially after Chelsea's controversial approach for the player, and then with last season's pitch dispute and a loan disagreement involving Carlton Cole.

And Everton manager David Moyes, armed with money from the sale of Wayne Rooney and the proposed Fortress Sports Fund investment, will now be more hopeful of bringing the PFA Young Player of the Year to Goodison - despite Tottenham also thought to be in the hunt.

Tottenham? Yeah right.....

I can't see him going there, Everton would be the better choice for him and the most prob could pay him more money than Spurs..

Spurs wouldn't be a bad club, it's in London, got an exciting team and he would anchor the midfield.
