It would appear you have not watched any of the media coverage on the subject so here goes.

Sorry dude, I killed my television a long time ago. Thanks for humoring me.

The W hotel is named just that the W hotel if that is confusing perhaps you can write the owners and ask them to rename it.

I totally would..if I gave a damn. Anyway, thanks. I thought it was an abbreviation or something. Now that I think about it, though, isn't there a W hotel in Chicago as well?

As for the front of the line that is where peole line up for evacuation to the buses located near the super dome.

All the pictures I've seen, there've been no lines, just a swarm of people. I guess they showed lines on television?

What the Mayor did was take people that were from out of state and out of the US out of the hotel and he placed them in the first part of the line to be evacuated first rather then residents of NO.

I believe I read somewhere that he did that to open up the hotel for use by his taskforce as a staging area. That was earlier this morning.

As for corroboration, I saw it reported on CNN, MSNBC and Fox newscasts, which was sufficient for me. CNN and MSNBC do not have transcripts but perhaps you may find one for O'Reilly if you look.

Yeah, I got corroboration on my own after having asked you for it, but thanks anyway. The spin doesn't work for me though. I don't think he was snubbing his own constituents, he was trying to make space available for his team, and for the cops.

In any case, thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions.

Well that would be your problem not mine right?

Darned if I know but if you say so, unlike you I will take your word for it.

Yes and if you had not killed your television you could have seen what I did. Again not my problem, you killed your TV.

That is correct now however it was not the case several days ago there were tourists there.

No spin at all from me, you see when I see the very same thing on more then two networks I tend to believe it is not made up. It would be nice if TV stations put up transscripts for people and be rest assured if they do post one I will post it with a link just to show you it was fact and not something I made up.

Seen the National Guard prevent Red Cross from feeding people? See people starve for 5 days while Bush flies in his helicopter? See Bill O'Reilly blame people who weren't in charged, in fact one of them put millions into making NO safe until Bush came around and decided to give that money to Haliburton to kill more brown people.

Or, according to Rush Limbaugh "The africans and mexicans are getting what they deserve."

Nope, why you want to give me something?.....

I know the "current establishment" is not what some people make it out to be. There are too many people in these forums spreading "rumors and lies" which have nothing to do with the "real world."

I just hit Google to see if what you have quoted is accurate.
Guess what?
Not finding it.
Tried this:
Rush Limbaugh + "The africans and mexicans are getting what they deserve."

This:
"The africans and mexicans are getting what they deserve."

And this:
Rush Limbaugh says that the africans and mexicans are getting what they deserve.

None of the above ways verifies what you have in quotes as Rush Limbaugh saying, Jestaman.
Anyhow, advice?
How about when placing something in quotes as if asserting someone has said such, how about cite your reference source [ie: a Rush Limbaugh radio transcript, etc.] or give a link to such or where you are pulling such from?

Hey Seekeroff, you don't think Jestaman could be exagerating and maybe even lying do you?....

These are the kind of exagerations that go out of proportion and which quite frankly we do not need, much less at this time...

BTW Jestaman, the people the US and coalition are fighting in Iraq are insurgents who have been attacking Iraqi civilians and coalition forces.... but I guess you don't count those Iraqis we are helping as "brown people" do you now?......

Humm...I just have to wonder why 800+ Iraqis died a couple of days ago when there were rumors spread that an insurgent suicide bomber was with them...... You think they were running trying to find this insurgent?.....

the governor of N.O. had favoritism towards out-of-state people and foreigners

No doubt just because it was seen on fox you will not accept it but it proves I did see what I clamed as did at least one other

Well that would be your problem not mine right?

If it was your problem and not mine I would not have apologized like I did. I am at somewhat of a disadvantage in not having television, though I do endeavor to make up for it in reading.

..if you had not killed your television you could have seen what I did. Again not my problem, you killed your TV.

If this is all you got? America would be a lot better off if more people chose to shed that particular addiction..at least until programming improves and the TV news regains its journalism focus, instead of the tabloid crap it favours now.

That is correct now however it was not the case several days ago there were tourists there.

The people who got moved to the front of the line were, if I understand correctly, were the same tourists. The reason they got moved was not some dastardly plot to further add insult to injury for the people waiting in the doem. The purpose, or so I have read, was to free up space for the various agencies to coordinate their efforts in the hotel.

I imagine police officers and such needed places to sleep after the ordeal as well. Many of them had no homes to go to, and were working over-extended shifts.

No spin at all from me, you see when I see the very same thing on more then two networks I tend to believe it is not made up. I believe you're not making it up, because I've seen an article speaking to that fact. What I doubt is the insinuation by some that the mayor did a bad thing. I think he did exactly what he should have done under the circumstances.

Unless of course he's a shill as well, being used to keep people there for extermination, or whatever. I don't buy these theories, maybe you do, I don't know. I'm going to wait and see what happens.

Another thing we have to take in consideration is, that is in recently years that New Orleans has become a city that their economy depend on gambling.

Without the casinos New Orleans has nothing left.

Wrong without the French Quarter and the Super Dome NO has nothing left. Gambling only arrived in the past few years, however NO is known for it main attractions like the Super Dome (Super Bowl) and Mardi Gras that is were the residents made most of their money.

ROFL yeah right. NO is a massive industrial and trade center. They can definitely do without the income provided by football games and Mardi Gras.

Hey its mostly poor black people, right? Why should this adminisration give a hoot about em?Think theyre voting republican?
Im sure if this disaster had happened in a mostly white, affluent neighborhood, the choppers bearing food and water would have been there way before the media.

I wonder about that myself !

The governor of the state put foreigners and tourists at the head of the line of evacuees, ahead of her constituants.

You really should have paid attention to both posts, If you had you could see that we were comparing gambling and tourists, the industrial base had nothing to do with it, but you already knew that I am sure.

Also when quoting kindly use it in the correct context the higlighterd portion was from Marg not me............................. Carry on

Yes the south is definitly Republican but for the comments of people around every where I go in GA, blacks, white, brown, yellow are very outraged about the situacion in NO.

Mr. Bush can take all the critism he can and also his administration due to the fact that Mr. Bush is not going to run for another term.

But I wonder. . . will the Republican party be able to afford losing the south?

You have proof?

I think you read something and took it as gospel. It may not have been accurate though.

This is explained on a couple of other threads, I've already explained it once today, basically, it was the mayor, not the governor, and there was a very good reason (if I understand the situation correctly) to do what he did. Check out the other threads on the subject if you want to know more.

This sort of 'news' fuels the flames like gasoline, it starts vicious rumors that become enduring legacies of ignorance. It's happened before, and I believe I see it happening now. I just wanted to clarify what I see as a big misunderstanding in progress.

NONSENSE.

That's a link to an ATS discussion about this very same fallacy.

Where's the link showing the governor evacuated the hotel - that link you posted is NONSENSE, there's no proof contained in it, even the title is a lie! It was MAYOR RAY NAGIN, not the damn governor. I've seen this now so many times in the last few days. It's like people are trying to re-write history for some reason.

www.indystar.com.../20050903/NEWS06/509030481/1012/NEWS06

www.lasvegassun.com...

Mayor Ray Nagin has used the hotel as a base since it is across the street from city hall, and there were reports the hotel was cleared with priority to make room for police, firemen and other officials.

The Governor screwed up big time, in other ways, but the hotel decision was made by Nagin, possibly in concert with Blanco, for the purpose of creating a base of operations for police and officials.

The cops needed somewhere to stay, the city needed somewhere to coordinate their effort. The hotel guests paid for their rooms, and unlike the other citizens of the city the hotel guests were not ordered to evacuate! They were told to stay where they were because the airports couldn't do anything with them and it would have caused more chaos to have them trying to leave.

It would have been immoral to take them outside and dump them on the street to get torn apart by the angry mob. They were ushered to the front of the line with their belongings and put on a bus out of the city. It was the right thing to do, why?

Because that decision saved lives, and protected property, that's exactly the task of our government. If the tourists, with their nice dry clothes, their money, their luggage, their children, had been thrown to the wolves, we would have ANOTHER disaster on our hands. Believe me, if hundreds of tourists were assaulted and robbed, raped and MURDERED after being thrown out of their hotel by the mayor, it WOULD BE A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM.

I think making several hundred people wait a few more hours for a bus is a much better alternative. But of course, there should have been hundreds more buses to evacuate people. There were, in fact, several hundred more buses in the local area that went unused. If you want to talk about failures at every stage of this thing, I'm more than amiable to that, but stop posting false information that you KNOW is false.

But saying Nagin's decision to remove hotel guests was racist or evidence of favoritism towards the white community is NONSENSE! I would have made the exact same decision in Nagin's shoes, what would you have done, for arguments sake?

Wither it was the gov or the Mayor that did, the link clearly shows that FOX aired what I reported on earlier. You asked if I could prove it, there was no media coverage at the time so I posted the link above to prove it was not only me that saw the fox interpretation.

Now you on your own have found a media source claiming it was the Mayor. Fine I can agree with that since it is in print however at first you said they would not move people to the front of the line from the hotel and refused that it had been done just as I said only it was the Mayor, big deal that was not my point I was simply pointing out that guests in the hotel have been put at the front of the line for evacuation nothing more.

Thanks for proving I was right and you were wrong when you said they would never do any such thing.
