Preface: Defining or not Defining the Karman Line

The Kármán line is a boundary 62 miles (100 kilometers) above mean sea level that borders Earth's atmosphere and the beginning of space. However, defining exactly where space begins can be rather tricky and depends on who you ask. This is because Earth's atmosphere doesn't end abruptly but instead gets thinner and thinner at higher altitudes, which means there's no definitive upper boundary.

International law states that "outer space shall be free for exploration and use by all" according to NOAA. But due to a variety of definitions of where space actually begins and no definitive law that confirms the true boundary. The "where space begins" door has been left wide open, inviting a host of different interpretations.

For NASA and the U.S. military, for example, space starts at an altitude of 50 miles (around 80 kilometers), according to NOAA. However to the international community, including the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), space starts a little higher, at 62 miles (100 km), at the Kármán line.

We often wonder what are the reasons UFOs and Aliens are purportedly here.

We sometimes point to Nuclear testing as to what possibly attracted their attention.

We have our theories of what and or who they could be even to the point of hypothesizing that our Nuclear testing detonations created a possible gateway for their access to our world, to our dimension. Could these nebulous anomalies in the water, in the atmosphere, in space, be lifeforms unknown to us, that have the ability to defy gravity, to thrive in radiation.

What is rarely not mention when considering nuclear efforts, is that besides Nuclear testing and detonation underground, above ground, and in the atmosphere ….there were also Nuclear testing in space.

I wonder what the after effects may have unleashed? I presume Nuclear efforts in space also attracted UFOs and Aliens. Perhaps, lifeforms were unknowingly created.

Starfish Prime was a high-altitude nuclear test conducted by the United States, a joint effort of the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and the Defense Atomic Support Agency. It was launched from Johnston Atoll on July 9, 1962, and, was the largest nuclear test conducted in outer space and one of five conducted by the US in space.

The Starfish test was one of five high-altitude tests grouped together as Operation Fishbowl within the larger Operation Dominic, a series of tests in 1962 begun in response to the Soviet announcement on August 30, 1961, that they would end a three-year moratorium on testing. In 1958, the United States had completed six high-altitude nuclear tests that produced many unexpected results and raised many new questions.

On July 9, 1962, at 09:00:09 Coordinated Universal Time (11:00:09 pm on July 8, 1962, Honolulu time), the Starfish Prime test was detonated at an altitude of 250 miles (400 km). The coordinates of the detonation were 16°28′N 169°38′W. The actual weapon yield came very close to the design yield, which various sources have set at different values in the range of 1.4 to 1.45 Mt (5.9 to 6.1 PJ). The nuclear warhead detonated 13 minutes 41 seconds after liftoff of the Thor missile from Johnston Atoll.

Starfish Prime caused an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that was far larger than expected, so much larger that it drove much of the instrumentation off scale, causing great difficulty in getting accurate measurements. The Starfish Prime electromagnetic pulse also made those effects known to the public by causing electrical damage in Hawaii, about 900 miles (1,450 km) away from the detonation point, knocking out about 300 streetlights, setting off numerous burglar alarms, and damaging a telephone company microwave link. The EMP damage to the microwave link shut down telephone calls from Kauai to the other Hawaiian islands.

Thanks for that, I didn't know that nuclear tests had been carried out in space.
I'm sure they would have acted as some sort of beacon to any 'neighbours' if they were unaware of our presence.

It raises the prospect that any future nuclear exchange wouldn't require detonation on or near the ground, the EMP's generated by explosions in space would create absolute chaos but may not have the radiation fall out of ground based explosions.

I know there are the rumours of interventions in our nuclear programmes....if true I'd say they aren't meddling enough!

Perhaps, lifeforms were unknowingly created.

If that be the case, there is enough radiation in The Van Allen Belt, so a nuclear test explosion in the atmosphere would probably have very little effect.

My theory is that UFOs are seen near atomic tests because that are investigating space manhole covers.



We shoot a calling card or several into space and someone noticed. They are curious about them or don't want to be hit by one.

Good post. Remember, ET has been here for historical millennia so a rift would have been a detectable anomaly but not a prime driver of the presence. The interest and observation certainly took a quantifiable upturn after Trinity. The other point is the shutdown and surveillance of our nuclear forces and those of the other countries (which is a fact that it happens, for the habitual debunkers on ATS) seems to confirm their interest in watching our evolution.

Starfish Prime did not last long but was stopped and moved underground shortly after it began. Surely, because of the EMP and fallout issues, but undoubtably at the behest of our advisors/observers/overlords.

where has this ever been pointed too? if a race can travel through space from a galaxy far far away, i don't think they would be too impressed by our weaponry.

The only way any nuclear explosion was noticed by ET would be if they were already here watching . Think about what goes own on other planets in the universe we are just a molecule compared to the power unleashed by billions of other items and events out there , Pretty arrogant to state they noticed use by our tiny bombs and caught the 1st bus to Earth .

I'm hard-pushed to see how detonation nukes in space could produce life.

As to attracting the likes of an Alien civilisation well lightspeed being what it is they would probably need to have been in the vicinity to detect it within a certain time span, meaning if they turned up straight afterward or thereabouts, then they were probably already here or rather close by.

Let’s ponder a practical approach…..

Let’s presume that alien life is here on earth…..whether it’s been here for eons, or arriving from their home worlds by light speed travel. Basically earth is a 2nd home so to speak. For those traveling at light or greater than light speeds pretty much know that going home is not an option since going back to their home world….their home world or those they knew may no longer exist.

Ok, so aliens are stuck here….they are here whether they and we humans like it or not.

So they are living on a world with educated monkeys (humans) that have nuclear technology enough to destroy the surface of the entire world multiple times over.

It would stand to reason that aliens would not want these educated monkeys (humans) to use nukes to destroy each other.

Remember it’s now their home to.

Could you imagine how much of the Transmedium earth would be affected if thousands of missiles are flying in our atmosphere, and in our surrounding space.

Imo….”advanced” aliens won’t let us destroy ourselves while at the same time taking out aliens themselves…..and left with an unlivable world.

So I welcome as well any alien intervention to prevent or deter the use of nuclear weapons.

Perhaps the STARFISH PRIME….was a heads up to the aliens that humans are getting a bit out of control.

Btw Castle Romeo nuke test was so huge that scientists were not prepared for the size of its power.

Think of it …..we have scientists that are given permission to try tests in which they are ballparking what the limits of the results “might” be.

It has been suggested many times that the ETs are here because of our work with the atom.

Perhaps our exploding such weapons in space was intended as a "do not disturb" sign.

Aside from the effects of EMPs……what else, what else, could have the detonation have been the catalyst for?

What effect did these events have on the Ozone layer? CFC's and some other compounds are getting the blame for the ongoing degradation of this shield. Setting of a nuke in this region of space is also on the suspect list for doing damage.

As one consequence, we not have have the black op geoengineering program putting up all kinds of stuff to try and buffer and control the weather to some degree.

With such a powerful EMP, does it have some effect on the movement of the Earth's magnetic pole? This pole moves around naturally, but how much much and where it moves is there some influence from high altitude nukes?

What kind of signals got sent out across the universe as the nuke age started, could it be the annihilation of matter has some faster than light component that was detected as elements that are suppose to last for trillions of years suddenly hit their used by date.

Zefram Cochrane's flight.

Cochrane made Earth's first warp flight. The Phoenix's warp flight was detected by a Vulcan survey ship, the T'Plana Hath, which then made peaceful first contact with humans, including Cochrane, at the Phoenix's launch site.

Just last week it was announced that scientists have been able to interpret signals from distant solar systems whether or not there were signs of planetary surface lighting being produced artificially which would indicate advanced, intelligent life.

All of the UFOs since about 1947 have come here from many, many other intelligent worlds to study the frail humans and ascertain IF they should be stopped or even exterminated. That is why there are so many different types of ships seen over the decades since our first explosions. Their assessment seems to have been made and a plan designed for earth that seems to be in full play.
