I know it is doubtful but in my morning optimism

Hopefully, this is more than political sparring, hopefully, there are enough who are tired of the BS from both sides and start working on legislation that really addresses the problems facing all Americans like the economy.

Nancy Pelosi evicted from her private office in the Capitol by interim House speaker

nypost.com...

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was ordered to “immediately” vacate her Capitol hideaway office by Wednesday as she slammed acting speaker Patrick McHenry’s decision as a “sharp departure from tradition.”

An email sent to Pelosi’s office on Tuesday said that the “room will be re-keyed” and reassigned for “speaker use,” Politico first reported.

The move came just hours after McHenry was named House speaker pro tempore following the ouster of Kevin McCarthy in a historic vote Tuesday.

“With all of the important decisions that the new Republican Leadership must address, which we are all eagerly awaiting, one of the first actions taken by the new Speaker Pro Temper was to order me to immediately vacate my office in the Capitol,” Pelosi said in a statement, referring to McHenry.

Pelosi had two separate stints as speaker of the House, first from 2007-2011 and then again from 2019-2022.

“This eviction is a sharp departure from tradition. As Speaker, I gave former Speaker (Dennis) Hastert a significantly larger suite of officers for as long as he wished.

Pelosi said she is in California, where she is mourning the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein and is unable to retrieve her belongings from the office.

Let's be fair, it's political sparring and a scummy move. First off, it's tradition that the Speaker Emerita be given an office in the Capitol. Second, McHenry knew that Pelosi was out of the state attending Feinstein's funeral.

He was visibly pissed last night that McCarthy was removed and as a result he's acting like a three year old throwing a tantrum.

She's a scummy person. It serves her right.

Hopefully this is just the beginning of what karma has in store for her.

You're just jealous that she was able to keep her party made up of a multitude of factions working as a cohesive unit while the GOP seems to lack any leadership and as a result it's various factions are burning it to ground.

she is a cancer and all she could ever accomplish was dividing people. the sooner we get all people like her far away from DC, the better

time for our country to heal

As a taxpayer, that's my house she's using and I say throw her out. She doesn't need or deserve a suite for an office. How much time is she spending there anyway?

Nailed it.

McHenry off to a JV/juvenile start. Classy.

The MAGA implosion continues. When do we get rid of Gaetz?

Nancy threw her little tantrum in front of the entire nation, so I'm waiting for our Leftist friends to tell me how this is any different than what she did.

The ethics report is apparently pretty much complete. Once that gets released, they'll probably move for expulsion.

crazy and awkward

it would be like a male standing in the background, ripping his shirt and flexing his oiled up muscles because he knows he is irrelevant, standing silently in the background and just can't take it

McHenry is a close ally of McCarthy, and this is almost certainly well-deserved retaliation. According to McCarthy, as part of the passage of the recent 45-day clean continuing resolution, Pelosi had promised to not support Gaetz if a motion to vacate was filed. Instead, the former Democrat Speaker stabbed now former Republican Speaker in the back and actually encouraged her caucus not to save McCarthy. In the end, Democrats joined with a small group of Republicans to end McCarthy's tenure.

Yet you giggle like a little fella whenever DA’s AG’s judges courts and police are weaponized against Trump. That’s a bit of a break from tradition.

But you cry cry cry about a silly little closet and its ownership.

That’s OK nobody expects consistency, only hypocrisy.

Oooh, you mean it wasn’t true when you all giggled and chortled and guffawed that nothing would come of anything Gaetz was doing ?
You lost, lost your slave-like RINO speaker, and saw Queen Nancy slide down the bannister toward full irrelevance.
Act like you’ve ever been in a game before, where you win some and lose some. Don’t just fume that you didn’t get your way every time.

McCarthy broke his deal with the Dems first when he refused to put forward the CR that was agreed to over the summer. And then he went on TV on Sunday and tried to claim that the Dems wanted the government shutdown when there was near unanimous support from the Dems for the CR that was passed.

Apparently that was the final straw and caused Dem leadership to say, "F*** 'im."
