My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer just over a year ago. She had surgery to remove three masses and any related tissues that appeared to have "disease". Then she went on chemo for six cycles (with a break in between caused by the original oncologist dragging her feet while making a chemo change she wanted to progress to. So the wife actually finished up the chemo regimen with a second oncologist, and then went on to taking only Avastin as supposedly a maintenance program. But she never had her CA125 tumor marker test drop down into the "normal" level. And now for the past few blood tests, that number is rising steadily. CT scans show no tumors, but we recently found out that ovarian cancer will sometimes (often") spread as a sheet across and around organs instead of forming three dimensional tumors. My wife has had to have fluid drained from the sack around her right lung (pleural effusion) several times, and there might now be fluid possibly building up in both lung sacks. The fluid that was drained was confirmed to contain cancer cell.

Really not crazy about just going through more chemo treatments as the standard oncologists here in the USA apparently believe in trying to get as close to killing the patient as they can, hoping that the cancer will die before the patient does. We have been reading a LOT about alternative treatments, and honestly after the fiasco with the FDA stomping hard on Ivermectin and other drugs in order to push the vaccines, I have developed a lot of distrust for what the FDA permits doctors to use and not to use. It doesn't take a big leap of thought to assume that this sort of filtering is taking place within the cancer industry as well.

But what to believe? There is so much biased information and counter information available, that picking the wheat from the chaff is nearly impossible to do. As a for instance, my wife is seriously considering going to Tijuana Mexico -> www.oasisofhope.com... because of a personal recommendation from someone she talked to personally who has been there and highly recommended it. But heck, there are lots of negative reviews as well as positive ones. Which ones are truthful and which ones are just planted trolls by the powers who would rather not have any competing alternatives to suck away the profits of the pharmaceutical companies?

So here is the thing. If my wife is convinced this Tijuana junket will help, and it is NOT cheap, how in the world can I say to her, "No, sorry, but I don't believe it will help you" when I certainly don't know that at all. And would she resent my standing in the way of her MAYBE getting better, or at least living a few more years longer than she will otherwise?

I guess I am asking for input from anyone who has first hand (or relatively so) with any alternate source of therapies that had a successful (relatively speaking) resolution. Surely some are legit? Or are they all just trying to sell snake oil to grab as much money as they can from desperate people at their most desperate times?

Any advice would be GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated. My wife actually feels pretty good now, but I don't know how much of this borrowed time she has left before things get worse. Stage 4 ovarian cancer does not have a good track record for survivability of the victims. After being married to this woman, who is also my best friend, for 45 years, I would like to keep her around as long as possible.

I did a study some years ago and can tell you that there are alternative methods that work.

I do not know which ones are legitimated centers but do all the checking you can.

Prayers its brutal, I know, we lost my Dad to stage 4 Pancreatic cancer after a 19-month-long fight.

I agree they are probably alternatives that could help, FWIW. Just not sure about Mexico Id need to do more research no opinion one way or another

So her doctors just want to keep hammering her with chemo, no other types of treatments? What about other hospitals or treatment centers? Ones that differ from her current regimen? If nothing else research those possibilities and see if you can find something in the state that is different from what she is receiving now. Florida has to have some of the best treatment centers see below

I know late in my Dad's treatment after he had made a lot of progress, they switched him to a brand-new treatment. Sometimes I wished we had either kept the same regimen going or tried another cancer center whose treatment was different than our initial treatment facility but had been used before.

Might want to check here for more specific insight and support. As my Dad's full-time caregiver, the Pancreatic Message Boards helped with a lot of our questions and help tremendously with treatment and home care.

Try and keep her weight, strength, and hope up always...shes made good progress, and she can beat this.

I found the Cancer Tutor website to be a wealth of information on different treatments for different cancers, and lots of related information for cancer patients. If the Cancer Tutor doesn't specifically reference the clinic your wife is looking at, they might at least have information on the same types of cancer treatment they provide.

Good luck and God bless to you and your wife.

You need to do a search here on ATS regarding cancer.

There are so many different things that are helpful. Things like Fenbendazole. Apricot kernals (in specific doses), anti-fungals (apparently lots of cancers caused by funguls, or so I've heard). There are sooo many different ways to cure cancer.

Even a long long water fast.

But here on ATS, there are PLENTY of threads.... Please search

From all my years of living, I sifted off a lot of "cures", diets, "breakthroughs", not because I have it, but because it's not too uncommon, and if I ever deal with it I want to know my options, but these are 2 things that I carry are most sincere from people's experience, that I can trust to you:

1. Something that caught my interest recently that I wish would be common knowledge now as a societal experiment is dog dewarmer(they may come in different chemical composition, make sure the chemical mentioned in the video is present -fenbendazole). Doesn't sound pleasing of course, but could be the medicine and cure that was around all along, just not for humans. Anyway see what you think about the man's experience:

2. Also I remember a case of cancer where a man was on his last straw, and decided to watch comedy and make the most of it, and to his surprise it healed the deadly disease.

Not sure if this is the guy, but this is a ted talk by a man who had a close call:

The information on Cancers is dizzying. Glad you are open & active in doing a deep dive to make the best decision for your wife!

I'm one of those "Keep it Simple" folk.
Years ago I'd read about how important it was along about springtime for Grannies to dose the family with Spring Tonics.
Also paid attention to information in Euell Gibbon's books. Now of course Internist's scoff at the possibility of suburbanites having parasites, mine did! We don't farm anymore & are alleged to have enough chemicals in our yards to nuke the universe! LOL!! Thanks Scott's marketing people!!

However I camped a LOT, was absolutely not fussy about handling all sorts of critters & reptiles & gave short shrift to hand washing, swam in any body of water without a care. I decided that Grandma wisdom trumped current attitudes.
Started this journey with the Ivermectin yrs before 2020. Happy effect was I lost 100lbs without dieting or eating healthier. My Doc was shocked. I also generally was in better health. Not all folk wisdom is quackery.
Altho at this point I trust a Veternarian more than MD's.

All this has lead me to Joe Tippens & the dog wormer DeRage mentioned.
Should I need treatment for any kind of cancer that's absolutely my plan of treatment. Am including some links to Tippens information. Shockingly the dog wormer family of antiparacitics has been studied so there is some science behind this approach.

This interview includes info on the studies.

Dr Mukhopadhyay from MD Anderson first discovered mebendazole has potent anti-cancer activity in lab experiments in 2002.

I offer my understanding to your current situation and can only say I have been there, my wife passed away in January this year after a 3 year battle with brain cancer

This may sound obvious but do everything you can togther, cherish every moment, give her the dignity this vile diesease takes from her, I can only say it gets worse when they are gone, so dont waste a moment, talk + hold hands, kiss her daily

I have never felt such abject lonliness as I feel now, my wife was 46 and we had been togther for 20+ years, leaving me as a single parent, cancer is the most disgusting and spiteful diesease it takes away our loved ones

Please understand time passes quickly , my wife was given a 3 year diagnosis and we crammed so much in as we could (stupid covid came along and prevented some nights out) but now she is gone, I only wish we did more.

We looked briefly at apricot seeds but nothing made any difference, my darling wife had 2 bouts of brain surgery, chemo and radiotherapy, the last 6 weeks of her life the tumor made her infirm physically, stealing her ability to walk and feed herself, the last 2 weeks of her life were in a hospice

here are my own threads

Failing a loved one with brain cancer

Failing a loved one with brain cancer Pt.2

I am sure you are doing all you can for your darling wife, please try and find a moment to just smile with her and hold her hand, because when its over unfortunatly you will be where I am now, unable to talk to her and unable to adore her

Love to both you and your wife, no one deserves this

You have my deepest sympathy in a very difficult situation. Do not let anybody influence you or your wife in a quest for a cure. do not believe all stories about snake oil cures. Keep looking, you have nothing to lose, but your wife. Do not give up, who actually knows what works and what doesn't, try for yourselves. Because if I was in your place I would.

Thank you all for your input, advice, and support.

Back not long after Connie was diagnosed with this cancer, went through the surgery and was being beaten down by the chemo treatments, I was walking outside doing something and in my mind talking to God asking him WHY Connie? Why her? She is the most giving, honest, and loving person I have ever met. The world will be a much colder place without her being in it. So why her, of all people, would God decide to harm her in this way?

Then a very odd thing happened. I am in no way religious in the sense of church going, praying, or anything that anyone could ever conceivably think as being religious, no matter how that term is stretched. But I HEARD a voice. It wasn't like the classical representations you might see in the movies with a deep booming voice. And try as I might I cannot recreate that voice in my own mind. It was like EVERY voice I have every heard, all rolled up into one. Not loud, not soft, not deep, not high pitched. Every sonic frequency of voices rolled up into one. And all it said was "Trust me, Rich." I stopped dead in my tracks dumbfounded. Yeah, I have heard the platitudes that "the Lord words in mysterious ways" and all, but that has never impressed me to being anything more than people trying to rationalize non rational events in their lives.

But what does it MEAN? And if God actually did speak to me, WHY me? I am no one special. And certainly the world (universe?) is filled with people who call out in distress and anguish for his help. So what in the world would ever have qualified me for his direct attention? And if I am not just going off the deep end, is it just to tell me not to worry, that everything will turn out OK, or does it mean that I will be guided to find the answer, but I HAVE to make the effort to find it? Yeah, I have heard the phrase that "the Lord helps those who help themselves". But what I want is for the Lord to help Connie. So does that mean I have to do everything possible to help her in order to earn that help from God? Or does my continuing to worry and distress over trying to help Connie show a distrust in what I thought I heard and a disbelief and lack of faith in what I TRULY heard?

I am scared to death that there might be an answer to be found, but either I won't find it, or I won't recognize it when I see it. Suppose I make a wrong decision that causes me to miss the right decision? Am I unfit for the help of God because I just don't have the faith in my own abilities to SEE what I need to see?

Maybe someone here is providing the answer I seek. Which means I HAVE to chase down every lead, and every thought, and every recommendation. But I feel like the sands in the hourglass are running out for Connie, and it crushes the soul out of me to think that I might fail in this most important quest I have ever had to face. I am 72 years old. NOTHING in my entire life has ever hit me has hard as this is hitting me. Not even close.

Heck, I had a heart attack a month after Connie's diagnosis. Interestingly enough, prior to that I had asked God to take whatever he wanted from me to give to Connie. In the ambulance on the way to the emergency room, I was thinking, "Well God, you certainly didn't waste any time taking me up on my offer." And honestly, every night, I continue to make the same offering when I climb into bed next to her while she is asleep.

I guess just the fact that I haven't lost my mind (at least I don't think I have) might be an indication that God is really helping me. I just hope I am worthy of it.

Of course you are worthy of it!!! You are a beloved perfectly imperfect child of God. God is your co-pilot on this journey. Never ever doubt that. Let your faith guide you. Let your prayers strengthen you. Let your love for your wife shine through in all you do.

God can do the heavy lifting. Just keep your heart open for when God sends you a message. Or an angel. You'll know. And you will do what you can do and what you must do.

It's hell. I know. I also know you can do this. With God.

Big hugs for you and your wife. Prayers up! 🙏

Rich, take a very close look at these, dog dewormers. These work. I can't really say more for I am no doctor. Take a look at ivermectin, also. A very good drug that is totally underutilized. Good Luck and God Bless!
