hell Elon was saying it wouldn't surprise him if it exploded earlier.

it's the first step in long space voyages just like every mode of transport that has ever been devised, be it land, air, sea or space based. the first space craft could only seat one monkey /dog , then one person, then three people, then eight, now crew dragon can transport 7.

Strarship is planned with two versions, the cargo version which can carry 100 tons of fuel or supplies, and the crew version which can carry 100 people.

when new propulsion / engine systems are designed the crews and loads will get larger. this is one of those things were you gotta crawl before you can walk or run.
