Look fossil fuels are primitive and finite.

Or... are they?

This is a conspiracy site, so have you never heard the theory of abiotic oil? There are a number of threads here going back many years. Would it surprise you to learn that there is actually evidence that supports the fact that oil actually doesn't come from any biomass at all, but instead is constantly renewed deep in the bowels of the earth? One of the biggest pieces of evidence is the fact that they have discovered oil at depths far, far below where any large deposits of any biomass could reasonably be expected to exist.

I'm not saying it is proven, but neither is the bio oil theory proven either. They are both just competing theories.

Here is a decent intro video on the subject:

And for the future we need to figure out clean energy. To figure out clean energy we have to make investments, explore new ideas and simply accept what we're currently doing is long-term unsustainable.
Get over it.

We've already figured out clean energy (it is called nuclear, the clean form being the newer LFTR type of reactors). Yes, investments do need to be made to perfect it, and of course there are even newer methods like fusion that shuld be pursued, but...

It is simply impossible, and naive to believe that any combination of solar, wind and hydro can even remotely approach supplying current/modern demands without murdering a whole lot of people.

this is perfect. I wish everyone who spouted this stuff would man up and do it themselves. You want to rail against natural gas and petrolium, super, don't use any of it. And understand EXACTLY what that means. And when you are shivering in the next polar vortex, you can snuggle up to your solar array to keep warm.

Sure we need a better way, but common sense would say you need to find a viable alternative BEFORE you stop using what you have.

And the key word there is "viable".

Exactly.

Viable is something they do not understand.

it's so easy to grasp, it's just another brick on the clown world wall. But when you see the enormity of the wall, it can take your breath away. That's a lot of bricks.

The irony is that if they got their way regarding fossil fuels they'd probably have to spend longer periods of time in the future without food too.

Look fossil fuels are primitive and finite. Nobody's saying they didn't serve us well to get us where we are.
But the future has already started no matter how much you want to hold on to the past.
And for the future we need to figure out clean energy. To figure out clean energy we have to make investments, explore new ideas and simply accept what we're currently doing is long-term unsustainable.

Bullsh*t They were saying this in the 70's. If they were serious about this we'd be building nuclear powerplants like they were going out of style. Were NOT.

The biggest problem with climate activist is they want it all right now like a spoiled child

If they got what they wanted many people would die do they think it won't be them or are they so diluted that they don't even realize the destruction that would happen from there demands

These are the kids who believe the worst climate predictions, so they believe their lives are ending no matter what. They probably think their only slim chance is to force this kind of change. Will this kill them? Maybe, probably, but not to do anything definitely will - That's their mindset.

They also believe it with all the fervor of any religious zealot.

Start rolling wireless/Internet outages in the area. Allow maybe 40% uptime.

Tell them this is a taste of the world they’re asking for.

They’ll break within an hour.

But they need to keep us enslaved to our smart devices. Our whole identity will only exist online with digital ID'S ,CBDC's and the metaverse. Have they thought this through?

It is sad those that are supposedly educated dont realize none of us get out of life alive.

=============

Seems like if they want to make a change dont get a degree in gender studies, or DEI, and instead get into the sciences and make that break through that will allow us to get off fossil fuels.

============

Was watching a video the other day talking about how the environment used to be in america (as recently as the 80s)vs now, can we do better sure but we have come a long way in a short time of trying.

It is my most humble opinion that the climate change agenda is actually another way to usher in communism.

By dictating everything from appliances in our homes, to mandating how much power we should use, to dictating what to set our home thermostats at, to dictating what types of vehicles we should be driving, to mandating what foods we should be eating, . . . . . .

Indeed. I also like the term technofascism as it incorporates the whole 4th Industrial revolution and transhumanism being brought about by the Geat Reset.

Climate activists and that includes all these celebrities and mega-rich people, aught to be made to put their legs where their mouths are. Tag them all, make them walk everywhere, no cars, no trains, no aircraft, WALK. And when they want electricity in their homes or hotel room they should be made to pedal bicycles with dynamos on, so if they don't pedal fast enough they get no light, no TV, no heating and no cooking. And I'll guarantee you they will all be crying out to burn more oil or coal. Ivory towers come to mind and glass houses.

Woke idiots, this all a fantasy, none of them are really going hungry, idiots, nothing more and nothing else, let them starve if they really starving.

Sadly, these idiots are going to create our next energy crisis and then they will run crying to mom and dad but letting them be idiots before becoming adults.

Primitive?

So there's something, or somethings, out there that are better? More efficient? Cheaper? More readily available?

Point 'em out.

Seems to me that if there were, some of these energy companies would be using 'em. Wouldn't they?

Well yes a good example of the short-sightedness and issues with maximising profit in areas of ...'basic needs'
Without fusion there won't be any (approximately) free energy that's true and peeps are working on it.
But I think that's a little twisted logic because the only argument pro fossil is: it's still kind of cheap (for now though that has already started to change)
Not because 'they' want it, but because of reality and circumstances.

Because it has to be subsidized. Free solar and wind is a fail due to mining it needs and it really always was a transfer of wealth.

Not just that, but solar is more polluting than fossil fuels and my gosh, wind power is exponentially worse and creates unbelievable pollution, death, waste, and false hope for the magic these activists believe in.

The more important question is why so much effort has been made to stop progress

If we where to take a vote from every person on earth I bet you would find the majority want the same things it's the ones in power that give the extremes of society power and only for there own benefit

Could you expand on what effort has been taken to stop progress? Those in power control the narrative which is what you just provided us, so it’s interesting those in power claim we’ve stopped progress to me.
