People fight for their country in different ways. If you are speaking out about corruption and doing your civic duty to try to improve the situation, that is fighting for your country.

Picking up a weapon and shooting civilians so globalists can get richer isn't exactly fighting for your country.

I think the question here is when they are asked to fight for their country, what are they being asked to fight for.

Are they being asked to fight to hold on to the land, or are they being asked to fight for the elite to hold on to their money?

I think the majority of Americans would fight to the death, to stop a physical take over of the lands of America, if it came to physical combat on American soil. I also think anyone making that attempt knows that, and is why I don’t believe that will be their mode of attack.

When your country is being run by a group of corrupt, greedy, self serving, wealthy, power hungry, sycophants, taking orders from those that believe they own the whole world and everything and everyone on it, knowing what you are dying for is a wise question to ask. And everyone one of us, on every continent, should be asking that question.

I'm very much enjoying everybody's replies here, this has turned into a fascinating discussion with lots of things I hadn't considered!

For the record, where I've said I would consider fighting abroad, I mean this in a non-invasive way. Such as, I may go and fight in Germany but I would want it to be alongside the German forces rather than against them. I certainly failed to make that clear though.

I know I don't want to fight a politically correct war. If one is going to fight, then fight to win. None of this half measure BS.

I know it's hard to fathom, but imagine that there are other people that are born in other countries that have the same love for their home, that you have for yours.
You wouldn't expect them to go protect a border from immigrants, in a country that is basically founded on immigration...

Immigration has always had rules though, you must first screen the TRUE immigrants from the riff raff and vermin coming through at the same time or there is no "immigration integrity". Right now this is not really being done like it is supposed to....

In fact the current criminal derelict in the white house has been excluding the worst foreign criminals from that screening process and having them shipped to all parts of the USA all expenses paid to infiltrate the country for nefarious means.

Then you won't be fighting because those guys flying another flag with military equipment are no different than ghe cartels are now when you put it like that.

I will fight for my home and the ideals of this country as embodied in COTUS. That may mean fighting the government at the rate we're going.

So, would you fight for your country?

I was in the military for 28 years and then followed up with another 14 as a contractor, so yes most likely, but it really depends on the situation. I wasn't in favor for either Iraq or Afghanistan and I think both were just a waste of time and money, except for those who got rich off of it.

I have a vague memory of a war that was studied and showed the majority of the troops purposely shot over the heads of the enemy - it may have been vietnam but I'm not sure.

They explore that in Men Who Stare At Goats..movie..im not gonna promote it by posting a clip..Clooney is kinda creepy IMO..its complicated

Everything we have..on a level..was paid for in blood, its used as waterproofing for our Boots. Thats it.

Thanks it's been bugging me all day

nothing i can see in the shires (sheers) worth fighting for, certainly not london or the westminster bubble..

I will fight to defend my kith and kin and the hills i live on.. but then that was true of all my ancestors they have only ever fought their families their towns or villages..its kith and kin first and only..

as kipling said, my heart is to small to love anywhere as much as i do my home even if i now live among the witcher folk of the levels its home they are kith and kin..

I consider myself a pacifist, war is stupid, war is pointless and there is never a reason to start one...

But... there are justified reasons to fight to stop one.

If my country was ever attacked, then yes, even me the pacifist would work towards defending it even if that meant I had to die or kill someone else to do so... sometimes you just have too, even if that goes 100% against what you believe, since when death comes knocking at the door it doesn't give a damn what you believe.

Dying for some other country? if their cause is just then that's a persons right to choose to do so... me, id not, but id do other things to help even if its just to counter voice the BS of others or donate financially, or happily take a hit in lifestyle to let sanctions do their thing.

Good question, thanks for the interesting thoughts in the OP.

I wanted to be an officer in the Royal Marines, or a branch of the special forces, when I was younger - but then circumstances changed & I never went down that route. Later in life I was given the opportunity to work for the Territorial Army Intelligence Corps, but unfortunately, due to a change in my health situation I wasn't able to fulfil the basic training obligation.

Something weird about my case was that I had been 'pre-approved' for intelligence work on the MOD computer systems in the Armed Forces careers offices here in the UK, with a star rating in terms of competence/IQ being at around 4.7 out of 5. The guys in the recruitment office said they had never seen that 'pre-approved' status in many years of working there, so that was obviously a red flag that something unusual was going on. Where they obtained those star rating results/ projections I have no idea, but I've had MILAB experiences in my early (& later) life, hence I figured that some of it may have been obtained under hypnosis, as well as curating general information from my educational background.

To answer your question decisively, I would fight for my country, in the only way I possibly can, in some sort of intelligence or counter-intelligence role, as a specialist only, there's no way I could go through 'basic training' due to disability. But yeah, despite all the valid objections to the current power structures in the UK, I'd want to preserve the best aspects of British culture & prevent takeover or destruction by a hostile foreign or extra-territorial power. Something tells me we may face just such an hybrid threat in the years to come. Public/private partnership fifth column activities are already occurring, and the world is being led by the nose to some Klaus-Schwabian Utopia as things stand, which I believe no-one on this site (or in the British military) would want.

Here's hoping we all stand on the right side of history when this thing is done & dusted!

When you have the best trained military in the world and they are not allowed to stop the invasion at the border, sorry, my answer hell no.

I think you're confusing 'country' with 'government'.

I would never,m ever consider fighting for my government.

I would fight, and if need be, die, for my fellow countrymen, and the principles upon which my nations was built.

My country no longer exists.
It's been usurped by jackals that build underground bunkers to hide in when they decide to light us up.

thats a complex one, country for me refers to the 200 year old ancient boundaries which I would fight for, so the land/people, i wouldn't fight for the central gov though..

If a foreign invader ever set foot on one inch of British soil I would give my all to defeat them.
I would not be fighting for any political ideal or party but rather for my family, my friends, my people and my country.

If I genuinely thought this country was in real and imminent danger then I would also fight.

Would I fight in any foreign war?
Probably not. I guess it would depend on the circumstances.
But I can't think of one foreign conflict the UK has been involved in during my lifetime, apart from maybe The Falklands, where I would have volunteered to join up and fight.

If the US was invaded.
I would not fight for this government. but i would take out my M1 Garand scout rifle and go hunting for invaders and any democrat that got in my way.
i am a US navy vietnam vet so it would be likely that i would die from lack of medications for my health problems before i got to many.

Fighting for a government that has turned on it's own people
like somekind of damn rattlesnake? Knowing what I know
about profiteering for the warmongers of the world. The only
fight that would be worth it would be against them. The world
would be better off without them.
