Reports are surfacing that Bakmut has turned into a meat grinder for Ukrainian troops. Which no doubt explains why Zelynskyy is so hot get the US to commit troops. His own forces are probably getting perilously depleted by now.

We've been seeing reports for a while now that most generals are saying that Ukraine is a lost cause, all public statements about "we're kicking Russia's ass" notwithstanding.

In a video Zelensky seems to be pointing out if Ukraine would be running out of menpower, US will have to send their sons and daughters exactly the same way Ukraine is.

Your'e right. The US should have stayed out of WW2 and let Hitler take over Russia and Europe.

You really should brush up on your history and stop believing the Hollywood version of it that so many Americans obviously believe to be the truth.
The USA never chose to become involved in WWII; Japan bombed Pearl Harbour - an act of war - and then Germany declared war on the USA, not the other way round.
Until then the USA had been quite happy arming and supplying both sides, obviously for a price.

We never should have given the Soviet Union 11 Billion dollars in lend-lease assistance. Would have been better all around.

The USA didn't give anyone anything, they charged.....quite a lot.

None of that is meant to undermine the commitment and resolve of the USA once they were involved and the tremendous sacrifice so many made.
But accuracy and truth are important....aren't they?

thanks, I got had on this, I avoid all zelensky but had to see this and I even logged in to see comments and you are right, it was cut to to change context.

These asshat euros have no idea the sacrifice American families made so their Europe is free, as evidenced by the post’s reporting “America gave nothing”.

Russia beat the holy crap out of Germany is the only reason the western allies were able to defeat Germany on the western front.

Again, some accuracy.
One of the main reasons Russia was able to resist for so long against Germany and the Axis powers was because of the aid they received from The Allies most of which came from the USA.

In addition Stalin continuously tried to beg and bully The Allies into opening another front by invading France regardless of whether they would have been able to actually win.
It was only when as a result of the D-Day landings Germany had to divert massive resources to fight there that Russia was able to make such substantial territorial gains in Eastern Europe.
Without the Normandy landings and subsequent advancement on the Western Front Germany and Russia would probably have fought a very long, protracted and bloody war in the east.

The same could be said about The Allies advances in the West.

The Allies could have been the first into Berlin but they made a political decision to allow Russia 'the glory'.
What a mistake that turned out to be!

I was going to say all border runners and illegals (millions of them now) should be sent to Ukraine to fight, both men and women, and that would solve the problem of them also wanting to come here at all.
