Who saw this coming a mile away? If you want to read a Disgusting article click on this..

Here

Wanted: About 2.7 million male workers in their prime working years. A big reason many employers are still struggling to find qualified job candidates is that the share of Americans working or looking for jobs is at 62.4%, well below its pre-pandemic level of 63.4%.

First of all I have to laugh when they say THIS is one reason for inflation!! The balls these people have, I tell ya! Yes, men you are the reason, you won’t take these low wage jobs and work your life away, shame shame shame! We should make you walk naked like Cersei on Game of Thrones.

Men were told they were last in line, they were the problem for all issues in the workforce and were often the first to go when things like reduction in force happened. At the same time it seemed like every other job was going to India, China, Philippines or some other country. The few low paid jobs left weren’t really worth fighting for. The generation they are referring to in this article are GEN X and a small portion of Millennials. Sorry Boomers you are too old they don’t want you anymore. (Not a dig, y’all are hard workers!). I’m not even going to go into the area of affirmative action in the workplace because that will just be salt in the wound!

There was a war waged on the average male and what was sowned has been reaped, and it is uuuuggggggly!
This is where we enter the blame game. As the article mentions the problem has to be drugs and video game use….um ok…..

So there you have it, that’s the reason our economy is in shambles, growth is in reverse, nobody wants to work, and we will look like Russia soon.

(Ps. That’s sarcasm for those that don’t know my writing well enough

It's part of the psyops. This one is the "attack the white man for being effective at everything".

Never mind the participation award recipients. There is plenty of hope for the future of mankind.

Ditch the fear porn, and the video games. Watch your 6. Onward.

I warned of this crap back in 2019.

I said that getting government involved would be bad.

I said relying on government would be bad.

But NOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOooooooo . . . .

Wear a mask, two weeks to flatten the curve, government checks, blah-de-blah-de-blah.

We own tis crap because as a nation, we showed ourselves to be socialist-Marxist loving sheep just getting fat for the slaughter.

ppfft!

You know, I think we actually are…
I am independent, but I live in a very right leaning, conservative area. I can’t believe how many “conservatives” actually have very socialist ideology (and want to force it on everyone)!

But, but, didn't someone (I can't remember who) just said that all the city construction projects are overrun with white men. Well that suggests in the OPs context that it's black men who are not stepping up to the plate to do the jobs.

I will say even though white men are last in the pecking order, men of color would also be put after women, and then women of color in the workforce.

That's odd, because I am seeing spanish men overrunning the construction industry here -
And I should know, because the last company I worked for had different crews, two of them spanish and illegal.
Troubling also is the fact the suppliers, which are huge corporations, always checked company licenses before selling certain items to construction laborers - a few years ago they ceased doing that, now anyone can purchase these things and install them, no license necessary.
What used to be American quality work, is no more.

Why, so they can be fired or accused of not using the right pronoun or worse yet discrimination? All the while be treated like # and underpaid by the new workforce of unqualified lawbreakers who get offered more than they do?

I don't understand how we can be governed essentially by the MIC and large corporations and be socialist-Marxist. imo it's a mutation of Capitalism into a Fascist Oligarchy. It's definitely not Mayberry RFD anymore. In my biz there is a preponderance of older white men in positions of power and I'm blessed to be one of them, working a union gig, owner of a mfg, wholesale, retail op, and involved in village politics. Perhaps it's not power per se, just participation in the American Dream. God bless the American free enterprise system. That's not socialist-Marxist!!

This rightwing whine fest in the greatest country on Earth sure gets old. Pathetic actually!

I thought "they" didn't want white people especially over-privileged white men in the workforce.

The liberal mantra is that white people, especially over-privileged white men should give up jobs so that people of color can have jobs.

There was an abundance of articles telling white people and men in particular to not accept jobs or promotions written by liberal media and to give the jobs to people of color. And now?

What isn't the liberal mantra working out well for society? As usual.

I have been watching this trend for months now and fully expected that it would reverse as these "men" not in the workforce eventually ran out of savings and resources and were forced to start looking for work.

It hasn't reversed from what I am reading and seeing in my area. In fact, in our local area, it's actually gotten worse. There's a high percentage of the 25~55 age group that simply isn't doing anything at all. Jobs are available but they won't take them; if they do take a job, they'll only work long enough to pay the rent and buy a six pack and then they go home.

Another weird phenomenon I've observed is that many service provider type businesses also simply don't "do" anything. They'll promise to do a job, (fix a roof, do carpentry work, etc.) but they simply don't deliver. You call them, they promise, "Oh, yea, we'll be there next week" and never show up. They don't call, they don't apologize, they just never show up. The question that's come to mind is 'why make the promise to provide the service in the first place'?

All I can say is that from where I sit, this is a truly weird situation. It's getting worse, and frankly, it's starting to get a bit scary.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of other boomers when I say "I worked my ass off for 45 damn years. I've been paralyzed, I've torn tendons, I've had cuts, visits to the emergency room and even broken bones."

It's your turn. Enjoy yourself.

Perhaps the homeless camps might be harboring a good number of potential workers. The national news doesn't want to show us how much these camps have exploded, and cities they just want them to go away.

They're not just 'druggies' anymore; whole families are living in tents with no transportation or amenities of any kind, making it impossible for them to work.

DBCowboy has been right on everything covid related since day one; he should have been the official spokesperson.

I'm trying to retire but they made me an offer to stay. My counter offer is no more quarterly reviews and cost of living plus. They said reviews are part of the process and I said not anymore. Our new hires are lasting months and maybe a few past a year.

That is actually very common in my area and not a new thing either.
The people here don't have a lot of high aspiration for some reason. They are very content with simple life, like you said pay rent and buy beer...

I guess Gen X is saying... No thank you.

Maybe we saw what happened to our Dads and don't wish the same fate!

I don't know what's going to fix it.

My college is probably somewhere between 65-75% female.

And the majority of them have bullsnip majors like sociology and criminal justice. Not really productive career fields.

I think it's psychological. Being lectured to, and assaulted, with why you should hate yourself because of your color or gender HAS BACKFIRED.

HARD.

Same for the brilliant defunding of the police movement or the disgusting grooming and mutilation of minors.

It's a constant pounding of a square peg into a round hole. You know it's crazy and nonsensical, those around you know it's crazy and nonsensical, so WHY ISN'T IT CRAZY AND NONSENSICAL AND APPROPRIATELY DISCARDED??!!

They want labor one week and lay you off a couple weeks later. What a life.

Not to mention, there are a myriad of other ways to create income rather than just having or seeking a traditional job.

There's resentment and a fair bit of anger that the standard job market is nothing but a modern day slave trade. Your just free to pick your master.

A LOT of my pals are striking out on their own.

Wow, blame for inflation is just icing on the cake. So unfair.

So here in North America, I've seen decades of manufacturing etc. be farmed out to third world countries and pensions/perks completely dwindle. Mechanization also factored into this. There are few good, long term jobs to inspire young people. Young people also see that women still do most of the low income jobs and though those jobs are more available it means that a young man in a couple needs something more secure, and local, if they are to have a family. That is challenging.

There is still a gender inequity gap (on average) as my sons have had work opportunities thrown at them with room for growth with far less education than their cousins who are still serving coffee to pay back student loans. My sons were super lucky but many of their friends weren't and it's because they can't find work or it's not keeping up with the inflation and they are defeated, especially if they can't afford to leave home or move and the job is out of range due to gas prices. My son recently got a new job and a potential half hour extra daily drive was the make or break in his decision. This wasn't the case when I was young.

Here in canada, I think the pandemic crushed the spirits of many young people. They were given government money and basically locked down. Many I knew lived communally to get around the isolation factor and still do. They have much less money now but use it to support their group households. They have little aspiration for anything else but survival. I don't think they are necessarily unhappy as two years of lockdown taught them to live without dreams of anything further.

I remember talking with my supervisor in our very large call center. The year was 1999.
We were talking about all the jobs going to India…

We saw the rug being pulled out from under us.

I do think it is hilarious that both China and India are upping the costs for these companies and now some are even wondering if it is worth it to keep exporting the positions.
