Why Do People Tie Their Identity to Politics?

Looking at ATS and other “conspiracy” sites it seems like everyone is angry at something. And most of it is manufactured anger, people who have been led by the nose into believing a false version of reality.

How does a person escape from this?

It’s simple. Stop being so emotionally invested in such a BS game as politics. There is literally NOTHING you can make me feel by insulting a politician or political party. I can’t imagine getting worked up like some of you guys do. Especially to the point you want to hurt other Americans over it.

Wake up. Stop being led into hate by people who only care about money and power. Go outside, touch some grass. Go talk to a therapist if you need to.

Whatever you have to do.

Just stop letting people you’ve never met and who don’t care about you control you through your emotions.

Propaganda fails when you laugh at it.

If the world is going to hell and you see who is responsibke, the natural reaction is not to love them.
This goes for any affiliation, depending on what you want in the future.
Next, people are not identifying themselves by plitical sides only. I may be engaged on certain websites and still have a life away from websites, don't you?
What people do is as old as humanity and you are so worked up about it that you needed to make a thread?
Why not let others do what they like and you just don't engage?
Don't click, don't read, don't comment if you can't hack it.

I'm libertarian, not 'right' not 'left' , just for the truth and for the 99%ers.
The 'elites' , using their politician puppets, have successfully divided a large section of the population by 'politics'.
Politics which, imo, are mostly just theater. Just to make us believe that voting makes a difference, or that 'they care' about the people or the environment.
It's the 1%ers who are solely responsible for causing such misery worldwide. I believe that to them it's just a game for their amusement. They are psychopaths , it's what they do, it's all they're capable of doing, no empathy etc.

And with the 'great reset' they hope to gain total permanent control

People are scared, confused and looking for a savior with easy answers. Political ideology is analogous to faith in your prefered flavor of religion.

Also Religious fervor and political extremism allows brain receptors to act like a tweeker on crank or Flakka.

You need to realize that many political extremists are crippled up middle aged and elderly old men.
They feel life has passed them by and can vicariously live thru a charismatic leader. It's like emotional Viagra and expressing their hatred on the internet is s symbol for getting off and retaining a bit of bestial power... A surrealistic type of sexual gratification.
