In the captivity of the Soviet army, according to archival documents of the Second World War, from 1941 to 1945 there were more than 10,000 Jews taken prisoner by Soviet soldiers on the Eastern Front as part of the Wehrmacht and SS units.

To be honest, unless put in that situation no-one can truly say without a shadow of a doubt what they would do.
Imagine being told that unless you did something your children were going to be killed in front of you etc?

And of course there has always been traitors etc.
