He is probably going to get the wrath from Putin for this, but at least it's now out there.

It was an extraordinary piece of television.

60 Minutes is the flagship talk show on Russian state TV: studio discussion promoting the Kremlin line in everything, including President Putin’s so-called "special military operation" in Ukraine. The Kremlin still maintains that the Russian offensive is going according to plan. But studio guest Mikhail Khodarenok, a military analyst and retired colonel, painted a very different picture.

He warned that “the situation [for Russia] will clearly get worse” as Ukraine receives additional military assistance from the West and that “the Ukrainian army can arm a million people”. Referring to Ukrainian soldiers, he noted that “the desire to defend their motherland very much exists". "Ultimate victory on the battlefield is determined by the high morale of troops who are spilling blood for the ideas they are ready to fight for.”

“The biggest problem with [Russia’s] military and political situation”, he continued, “is that we are in total political isolation and the whole world is against us, even if we don’t want to admit it. We need to resolve this situation.”

“The situation cannot be considered normal when against us is a coalition of 42 countries and when our resources, military-political and military-technical, are limited.”

The other guests in the studio were silent; even the host, Olga Skabeyeva, normally fierce and vocal in her defence of the Kremlin, appeared unusually subdued.

It’s rare to hear such realistic analysis on Russian TV. The Kremlin has gone out its way to control the informational landscape here: shutting down independent Russian news sources, and ensuring that television – the principal tool in Russia for shaping public opinion - is on message.

So, what happened on 60 Minutes? Was this a spontaneous and unexpected wake-up call on Ukraine that slipped through the net? Was it pre-planned to prepare Russians for negative news on the "special military operation"?

It’s too early to say. Stay tuned to Russian TV for further signals

Lets hope more now speak out.

Ah BBC.

The one network that keeps claiming Ukraine is on the verge of winning as much they were hoping that Syrian rebels were to win.

When it comes to limited resources Its Europe that is in trouble.
There is an information warfare going...

Freedom has its cost.

Millions of Jews died in WWII.

A little inflation seems reasonable to ward off a murderous dictator bent on invading sovereign nations.

The war is going to get worse for Russia as western supplies and support arrives?

I'm glad they brought on an expert to reveal that shocking top secret secret intelligence.

Have they discovered if Russian soldiers die when killed or are the military analysts still working on it?

But i wanted to say that first

Also just like to add, Russia (China and India) is not alone and Europe is collapsing economically with no Russian energy and what Russia is selling its energy for is good "RUBLE" unlike the poor Aussie $$. it is costing me $2.20 a liter for petrol here

Venezuela may even cripple a few economies, good Ruskie support there as well.

I mean, that's a pretty reasonable assessment of what's going on, taking a step back and looking at the overall picture, so to speak.

Regardless of your views and perceptions, Russia stands alone. Cut off economically and resource limited, they have Oil, sure. Vast lands, yes. However, as a pariah state, ala North Korea?

Idk, all I know is the current outlook is correct.

My question is, what does an animal do when backed up agaisnt the wall?
I mean, is it hard to imagine Putin going mad and taking an ideological step? If Russia is cut off, then no one shall be comfortable and unleashes their nukes in an attempt to start a real world physical reset via MAD?
At this point, the Russian people either need to change course or....

Not a bad analysis. I try to see both sides of the information to paint a clearer picture, and profer people who can express themself with cool heads.

What I don't agree with is:

“The situation cannot be considered normal when against us is a coalition of 42 countries and when our resources, military-political and military-technical, are limited.”

In the modern global world, the numbers of nations supporting the strongest powers means nothing, when taking things in the perspective of justice and what is right in general. U.S. has done the same crap, occupying nations and installing puppet governments without any real justification. And most the the nations just nod along in hopes to get economic and military support in return.

My personal opinnion is that there are no actual good nor bad sides in this conflict, but both sides have agreed to draw attention away from the economic and financial clusterf*ck that was left behind with covid and the useless vaccines.
The "news" should be talking about the economic outcome that was left behind 2020 after and how mandatory vaccination had no justification, with specific names are responsible. But no, now most of the news outlets are full of topics on Ukraine. The masses are just so easily distractable..

There are rumours coming out of Moscow that some major players in The Kremlin are not happy with the way the war is going and Putin in general.

Maybe they are paving the way for a gradual change of leadership and direction and this is part of the process of getting the Russian people accustomed to a different perspective?

Sudden change can be quite the shock and a nation that is as enthralled with their leader that Russia appears to be can be quite reluctant and reticent.
Hopefully we'll see Putin being eased out and a more conciliatory tone coming out of Russian media outlets.

But then again.....

Pretty disrespectfull.

This man served his country , looking at the medals it seems like he did a decent job at it.

Protecting your country also involves telling your leaders or people the stuff they don't like to hear.

They need to be a bit quicker with this because once Europe begins to decouple from Russian energy they aren't going back and I think a major component of Russian conciliatory measures will be using their energy income to help rebuild what they blew up in Ukraine.
