This might not be good. Appears Base has been hit by several missiles.

A few links below. I would assume this is Iran but time will tell.

Most times they hit the base, but miss the buildings. Hope that's the case this time too. "Ballistic" though?

Iraq News Agency says the missiles hit either the U.S. Consulate, or the Airport.

Please add "Iraq" to your title. Most of us have no clue where ERBIL is. And be prepared to change it to U.S. Consulate, if necessary. Thankyou.

This wasn't the typical shelling there.

Dozens of missiles fired by multiple large drones is being reported by the local tv station there.

Was this russia or iran, on behalf of russia?

Social media pages affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said at least 14 missiles were fired at Erbil.

www.basnews.com...

Looks like it was iran, and looks like their target was the consulate, not the base.

Not certain yet though.

ETA - Another sources is reporting that these were grad missiles, which matches what I saw on videos.

Probably related but it's been hit before, still not good

Sabereen News reported that several explosions were heard near the Harir base. This base is the headquarters of the American military forces.

According to Sabereen News, the reports indicate that the base was attacked by several drones. No further details have been released about the possible casualties of these attacks.

US bases at Erbil Airport in Iraq have been repeatedly targeted by rockets and drones, which have intensified in recent months.

The explosions do not look to be large enough for anything other than a rocket attack, certainly not ballistic missiles as the incoming angle seems too shallow.

FYI there have been a lot of Blackhawks flying out here around NORAD today for some reason, I can see NORAD outside my window dont know if it means anything but more than normal.

I read the thread title and wondered if it was Ukraine.

I think it may have been both, some looks like nearby large drone missiles, and some of the early ones *may* have been ballistic.

Still too foggy to be certain about anything though.

ETA - Another source reporting ballistic grad clones from iran.

www.thedrive.com...

Apparantly Israel killed a couple high ranking iranian terrorists there a couple days ago in an airstrike.

Seems this could be the revenge strike, like after solemani.

It would be interesting to see what the "consulate" looks like. If its a single building, hopefully it was empty, due to being Saturday late-night.

Remember your audience. Now I need to look up NORAD's location and Blackhawks (not our hockey team).

I know it was 'under construction', am hoping the new complex wasn't really occupied yet.

Reports on the ground are that most missiles missed the target, but not my much.

They aren't saying any more than that yet, and could be false anyway.

This was iran firing missiles at the U.S. again.

Negotiation tactic would be my guess.

What's worrisome is that it looks to be located in the city itself, not out in the countryside. Worst place to put a U.S. Consulate. We will be a target of hate and jealousy for decades.

Some stoking the flames. Someone looking for WW3.
ps, It won't be Iran, Syria or Iraq. More likely Russia stirring the #
