Not at all, Putin however isn’t painting himself as some kind of freedom fighter.

Except I'm pretty sure Putin and the Russia media narrative during the start of Putin's "special operation" pretty much painted him and Russian troops as freedom fighters. They brought up multiple times that they are invading to help liberate the Russian's living in Ukraine from the evil Nazi's.

Go back in time to the news media. Say , somewhere 2000 and many years after.
The news media were releasing articles with the exact opposite of what you were saying.
And calling the Ukrainian government , Nazis.

What ever you meant by your comment doesn't change the fact that Grenade was wrong. Putin, Russia media, and even people who are pro-Russia tried to portray Russia as freedom fighters who are going to liberate the Russian ethnic minority living in Ukraine from evil Nazi's.

Idlib city was and is a City occupied by Jihadist Groups supported by US/UK currently the same nations now supporting Zelensky.

To the OP. Just like everything to do with Russia's failed attempt to invade Ukraine (as per the original objectives), Russia have totally underestimated Zelensky. Russia seems to have got tied up in their own lies and propaganda. He clearly is no incompetent, and has shown the Russians who the incompetents are.

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever read here. Feels like reading someone describing Stalin in some soviet newspaper 80 years ago.
A politician, who hasn't seen a single shot in the entire conflict, but still wearing military clothes in an office environment, to give impression like he would do more then giving speeches about "common suffering" and about "fighting until the last Ukranian". And a hero?!

At least during the times of Stalin, people wrote this kind of crap out of fear, not out of pure stupidity.

It's funny how people are not in control of their own memory and they let the media paint their memories for them.

Does anyone remember people like Saakashvili, Tymoshenko or Poroshenko?
What do they all have in common?
All of them were pictured as "the heroes of the people", when they were needed as pawns on the global board of chess. And all of them quickly forgotten when not needed anymore, with all of them facing serious legal charges after losing their foreign protection.

Balls of steel indeed. 10 months into the war, he's still staying put in his country. Visiting his troops, bombed out areas of the country. Being an actual leader. Compare to Putin, who is such a coward he makes his advisors sit at the far end of the table.

I got way more respect for Zelensky than I do most "leaders" in the West.

This thread is as hilarious as it is sad.

Certainly takes some guts to perform in front of a green screen (background inserted later) as you send your countrymen to be slaughtered, and while your country is being needlessly destroyed because the US wouldn't let you negotiate a new peace settlement (or stick to the peace agreement that was already in place).

His biggest personal danger at the moment is not having his make up done properly, or running out of schnapps.

He really needs to hope the US doesn't discard him when things go fully pear shaped though, which they inevitably will (and which the US has a habit of doing). There are some rather extreme elements among his forces that wear well known (and reviled) insignia and that might top him very quickly if he isn't whisked away to his *claimed* Florida mansion.
