Find me a city that doesn't have those issues whether people go to jail over it or not.

Yeah but Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit get better press coverage.

Twanda Carlisle comes to mind. That was the City Councilwoman who complained that 85% of the people arrested in her District were Black. When it was pointed out to her that 90% of the people in her District WERE Black, she said "I don't care arrest more White people." Then she got caught funneling money to her relatives for false studies that were never done.

Oh yeaaaa, good memories.

I wonder if she's out yet?

I'm waiting for the "the bridge was dropped in a controlled implosion" crowd to show up.

State Rep. Summer Lee has barely begun her first term representing the 34th state House district.  But she’s already made a notable statement: She’s hired Twanda Carlisle, the former Pittsburgh city councilor who left office in 2007 and pleaded no-contest to charges involving the misuse of some $43,000 of taxpayer money.

Carlisle has been working in Lee’s district office in Braddock, providing constituent service, for the past two weeks.

You have to wonder. If Biden wasn't coming to Pittsburgh would this have been blown up this big?

Loads of bridges here had already passed their expiration dates back in the 70's. It's very normal to see additional signs indicating lowered weight limits to the point it's just considered normal. Only difference is today luckily no one got seriously injured and we're going to be political fodder with no real action taken once the media circus moves on.

Just like our aged water system, roads & bridges also get fluffed off cause of the astronomical cost of fixing.
Safe roads may make a good sound byte but once actual costs are looked at politicians pale, shudder and run to something easier like a VFW meet & greet town hall.

Any bets yet on how long it's going to take to blame this on Covid?

Your bridges. Our sewers. You drive through parts of town in the summer that smell like they have open sewers, but our mayors would rather pay for vanity projects like a futuristic street car system.

I read that like a bad episode of Seinfeld.

Edit: they held the G20 summit near there in 2009. At Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

I knew there were a lot of bridges – I had no idea of that. And we’re gonna fix them all. It’s not a joke. This is going to be a gigantic change. There’s 43,000 nationwide, and we’re sending them money," Biden said.

Listen to him speak on this Instagram link.
