Decided to do some more digging, check some of the largest locations I could think of. First, the AMC in Manhattan, couple blocks off Times Square.

The plot thickens.

Next on the list: Chicago, just west of Navy Pier.

Plenty of showtimes, for plenty of movies, on plenty of screens.

You win some, you lose some.

I thought GOP conservatives hated Hollywood and the entertainment industry. At least that's the impression I get on ATS.

Canada has announced closing of their movie studio's due to the Omicron virus.

Instead, the WHO skipped over nu as well as xi, the next Greek letter in line — a move that many users on social media pointed out, while some questioned whether it was to avoid offending Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

They haven't reportd this yet over on the Martian alien letter writing thread..

Taylor Swift is 32 I think she bought her mansion in Rhode Island when she was 22.

I don't know about the GOP but, as a conservative, yes, I don't care much for Hollywood and it's elite. But what's that got to do with the topic?

I'm glad someone did a thread on this weirdness.
Jan has some happenings for sure.

5 comets are also due to pass by earth in January.
Don't forget to "look up!"

The 355 movie releases a signal that reacts with 5G and the vaccines to turn everyone into zombies ?

Only the vaccinated ones.

I just checked my local Theatre listings. This is correct for my hometown theatre too. What the heck? 🤔 Hmmm

355 runs from 1/6/22 thru 1/13/22
Scream starts running on 1/13/22

Edit* I stand corrected, I looked at it wrong, there are more movies, Spider-Man, The Kings Man, Sing 2, The American Underdog, Matrix.

not seeing that here in Georgia we got a full slate..

I choose the first under your state I came to

Regal Mall of Georgia & IMAX

/snip/

,[30.6200156,-84.9753662]]]Theatre

I'm in Georgia too and looking at the schedules, some theaters have only 2 movies on the 7th, others have the full list.

Still, very strange.

Instead of wondering, I called our movie theatre.

Re: www.classiccinemas.com...

They always answer and are knowledgeable.

Got a recording today, however.

Do you mean asteroids? There are several that are going to pass close this month, none really concerning in size but one, and all at least 4.5 Lunar distances away (and most several times farther).

I guess I scrolled the URL off the page when I did the screenshot. Here's the source for that...

My phone (T-mobile) has been at 5G since Feb 2021. What new is coming regarding 5G on January 5th. I've seen lots of references to the date on social media, but no explanation.

This is an astronomy question, but I'll ask it here anyway, since the asteroid subject is being discussed.

Why can't a smaller asteroid be sucked/veered into earth by our gravity well?

It seems to be naive to say that an asteroid "will miss us by XXXX miles", when it's coming close enough to be sucked in.

The FAA has been requesting that AT&T and Verizon delay rolling out 5G antennas in certain areas, particularly around airports, due to some circumstances where the antenna can interfere with navigation and other automated systems in aircraft. They're not adhering to the request.
