Covid Vaccines and Phone Notifications

First of all: This is not a political post regarding the vaccine itself. My body my chocie, I got it. If you want it, get it, if not I don't care, you do you.

Now, ever since I got my Covid Vaccine I've noticed the Walgreens App randomly pop up on my phone for a fraction of a second and disappear with no trace that it's running. It's having a slight effect on my battery it seems, and my data connection is running less well. Even the great ATS seems to have trouble loading. I guess in less worried about the virus and more worried about a phone virus now in the form of a medical app.

You could uninstall the app. Or check its notifications permissions. See if that makes a difference. I'd start there.

Most phones have a battery usage log, task manager, or something similar. You can use that to see what has been running and using battery. Maybe check your phone settings as well, I believe some phones were automatically opting in to contract tracing with updates over the last year. Without knowing the phone model it's hard to say for sure.

If it isn't something that you use a lot, I would uninstall it.

And then it hit me, first you get the vacine and then they add the catalyst to the water supply.

Lol, I got my vaccine at walgreens and that app has the documentation in it.

Take a screenshot of the document? Carry around a physical copy? Install the app when needed, show your papers, then uninstall again.

If you're just figuring that out, it's already too late.

I'd try doing what I suggested in my first response. Check the battery usage and app permissions. Most likely you'll find something in those settings that should help.
