That's like walking out onto thin ice after watching someone break through it seconds earlier.
That's a good point, but this analogy is flawed.
First of all, how do you know it's specifically THIN ice? You can remove the 'thin' from that sentiment completely.
I mean, if you can know it's thin BEFORE someone falls through it, then adding that fall doesn't really have an impact it should for the analogy to
make sense.
Also, does it have to be 'seconds earlier'? Wouldn't you be more concerned in helping someone that fell just seconds ago? SECONDS??
It would be better if you saw someone fall through, be rescued, and then you waited the ice to flimsily 'fix itself', meaning, you would wait until
there's ice again covering the previous hole that someone else made.
To add, what if the other individual is really fat and heavy, and you're skinny?
Your analogy leaves too many options open and has too many problems for it to work. Great point, flawed analogy.
