Well, I have this little booger headed towards my property....

Evacuations ordered in Sanders county

I am not under evacuation yet, but will probably be by tomorrow.

So I borrowed a horse and a mule from a friend... some like-minded people and myself will head up to a place where we are safe.

Yes, the mule is to carry the important things... like tequila.

Needless to say where we are going has no internet connection, or roads, or other people....

So see y'all when I get back and wish me luck.

Just make sure you don't end up somewhere you can get boxed in if conditions changed. None of us wants to be reading about a tragedy instead of a cool liquor party before the cleanup begins.

It's an abandoned mine nobody knows about.

We will be 1/4 mile under a mountain with a good water supply and air.

It'll be fine.

Heh, you had me painting mental pictures of a drunken campout on a mountain top ... sort of like "A Night on Bald Mountain" minus the demon and stuff.

Nope... that would be crazy!!!

We had a fire here in 1910 that burnt 3 million acres in two days.

A bunch of miners from the now-forgotten town of Belknap stayed where we are going and didn't lose a man.

Keep safe and let us know when you get the all clear.

Good luck with everything. Though down at the bottom of an abandoned mine with a bunch of tequila seems like a hell of a way to avoid a forest fire.

Lum❤️ I pray it doesn’t get any nearer. We are still rebuilding Talent and Phoenix, S. Oregon from last year. Still dealing with effects of the giant Bootleg fire and the additional smoke from the Lava fire on the North side of Shasta.

I know I don’t need to tell you …watch the wind and humidity. We have 2 apps for survival: On X Hunt provides additional gps, topographical , and logging trails for additional escape routes and Pulse Point is an emergency app showing all flash points and other emergency responses for making informed decisions.

On X is my hunting app for new locations but you can save maps and still get your location even when your phone or gps isn’t in range.

I’m sure you have a go bag, our experience last year being mobile for a week after the initial evacuation showed salted nuts, and water were our best mobility nutrition.

My whole family are holding you in high vibrations. We take fire very seriously now, good luck friend.

Ouch.

Feelin it, our whole area is covered by "mist" from wildfires 500 miles away.

Don't take any wooden nickels, or knowing you, give any

Hopefully it turns or something.

Stay safe.

Yeah, we're dealing with the air quality issues here too.

I spent the night at the outdoor theatre with family last night, and ended up with an asthma attack from the air quality. It's the fires, of course, even though there are none anywhere near.

DANG! I'm kinda jealous. I mean, certainly sorry about the fire, but where you're headed sounds wonderful!

But we are about to buy a little adobe cabin in the mountains, so at least I have that going.

Safe passage, and for goodness sake... once you're back home and safe, let us know you're ok.

Thanks,
