Furries have a rabid hatred of anything Trump. A large majority of the furry fandom are heavily left leaning millenials/Zoomers, many of whom are LGBTQ and they think Trump is literally the most evil person in the world and seriously believe that Trump and the Republicans want to kill gay/trans people. If you show any support for Trump, Republicans or the right, they're quick to label you a Nazi and try to cancel you on Twitter and expel you from their protective bubble that is the furry fandom. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if furries were involved. They used to be a group of fun loving, accepting social outcasts who were shy of people outside the fandom but very welcoming (sometimes to their own detriment) of anyone, regardless of their ideals. Now the furry fandom has turned into just another Twitter mob ready to beat down anyone who doesn't go along with their leftist agenda.

That tells me you don't even know what "free speech" is. It's not, and has never been, blanket acceptance of any sounds one wishes to send forth from their pie-hole. That is an asinine interpretation and beneath you. "Free speech" refers to the freedom to present ideas and thoughts.

Your own source states that the person evicted from GETTR posted furry porn. That is simply not something that most find acceptable, and it certainly is not an attempt to communicate an idea. It is rude and vulgar in an open forum, would certainly cause many of the intended audience to forgo participation, and is itself therefore an attempt to thwart "free speech." There are plenty of outlets on the Internet that welcome such, and in those venues it is appropriate.

What idea or thought is being presented by "cussing" or by pornographic images? I have personally been the victim of retaliation for daring to state that an action taken by a political leader was inappropriate; and you compare that to not being able to shock Grandma into having a heart attack with some hot furry porn action where she least expects it? Do you honestly see no difference between a discussion of a political ideal and watching Bugs Bunny do things Looney Toons never intended Bugs Bunny to do?

I happen to know quite a few furries myself. I have even attended AnthroCon a couple times; interesting experience, to say the least. Most are good people; a few are malcontents. Some I call "friend"; some I prefer to not be around. OK, that is correct for about any segment of any population one can identify for any reason. Furry porn is not a very big thing among many of them; it is considered inappropriate in public by most of the rest; a few malcontents like to use it to shock people, and of course a few hateful MSM types love to emphasize the worst of the worst in any group they find different (which, I might point out, is the very definition of "xenophobia"). Look at any group of the population and you will find many who consider sexual activities to be a minor part of life; most of the rest consider open discussion of them inappropriate in most venues; a few malcontents like to post porn wherever they go. Furrydom is a weird "kink" to be sure, but it's certainly not much different than any other unique identifier. It's harmless and everyone is entitled to a few harmless "kinks." That's what makes the world interesting.

That's the real shocker to me... I would have expected that you of all people would be a bit more understanding of the furry "kink," yet it would seem from the tone of your OP that a self-professed redneck is the tolerant one here.

The funny thing is, I learned, that you have probably interacted with quite a few furries in your day to day life without knowing it. It's not something people tend to put out there, usually because the media treats them like a bunch of sexual perverts and ignores the majority who aren't. In the more liberal areas of the country, furries are a little more accepted, and it seems to me to be this dynamic that causes the impression that furries are anti-Trump, anti-Republican, anti-right, etc. The ones who feel comfortable enough to speak out and get in people's faces are from areas where that is the general rule for most of the people.

That's the one thing I have a problem with when it comes to right-wing politics. People are people. Do your own thing as long as you're not in anyone's face and not harming anyone. To each their own.

It is also true that media tends to show the most brazen, in-your-face examples of any sub-group. I also know quite a few gay individuals (and probably more who I don't know are gay)... only a couple are what one would refer to as "flaming," but that's what the media tends to show. The rest are good folk who live their lives like everyone else. But did we all hear from the media a few years back? "Gay Pride" parades with guys playing Tinkerbell down Main Street, dancing around phallic symbols while wearing pink tutus. That's not because they are gay; it's because they are anal orifices come to life.

You're talking to a redneck. I would venture to say that I have shocked quite a few people with my opinions during the 14 years I have been on this site. But turn on the media and what do you see? Some dude with a gold tooth (and no other teeth) gnawing on a beer bottle while dreaming up the most ludicrous method of committing suicide ever devised by mankind and which usually involves a general disregard of anything approaching safety in the presence of either heavy machinery or high explosives. Yeah, I know a couple "rednecks" like that... but only a couple. Most of them are just people trying to live their lives like everyone else, despite their cultural "kinks."

Beware judging a class of people based on what some xenophobic dude on that flat screen is telling you.

I mean, come on maaaaaan, just look at the news... on any channel! CNN spent four years making stuff up and following every cockamamie conspiracy theory they could find to try and destroy Trump's character (after spending decades acting like he was a saint)... MSNBC had Rachel Maddow digging in dirt so deep her hair turned brown from exposure, in an attempt to find anything that she could twist into a Trump deterrent... Jimmy Fallon, who I used to enjoy, changed his monologue from comedy to screaming about the latest Trump lies... NBC, CBS, and ABC began spinning stories so much they could be mistaken for military helicopters... even Fox News, the last bastion of anything close to actual news reporting, went completely off the rails in 2020.

When one is fed that kind of garbage twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, for year after year, of course they start changing their views. Furrydom fans are no exception. They've only become anti-Trump because the idiots on the boob tube tell them to, over and over and over and over, until they're finally convinced.

The media is the enemy. Not furries.

If I am seeing something in the OP that was not intended, it might be for the OP to correct me. I take your advisement that you do not see the OP as denigrating toward furries; I do. Perhaps you could point out where trying to claim that inappropriate posting of furry porn is the common denominator of all furries is not derogatory?

Or is it easier to perform your own ad hom while complaining about one you claim I am using?

I made two points: one, that someone with whom I have had many in-depth debates with over free speech issues is now claiming furry porn on an open forum to be free speech, and second, that the OP is disrespectful toward furries in general. If you would care to debate one of those, perhaps this conversation could be more productive than most of your one-liner quips?
