I live on a 25 acre farm/forest in rural Missouri. It was an Intentional Community for 25 years, but we have dwindled to just two.
I was born and raised just south of San Francisco.(Cupertino) I have been interested in an alternative explanation of happenings/existence since I was 15. I have had many different jobs, and have played music for a living. I am an avid researcher of knowledge...mostly from the internet now. I do not belong to the popular social media conglomerates...Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, etc....I love having the curtain pulled back to reveal who/what is pulling the levers. We have two cats, a dog, two goats, and 7 chickens. Ask me lots of questions so I can meet the 20 post requirement to post new topics.

Welcome. Did the intentional community have a purpose like a tree farm or just a residential community?

The main purpose was to get out of Dodge!
We wanted a place that was fairly isolated so we could try to live without all the melodrama in our culture. Then we studied what we each wanted to, planted extensive vegetable gardens, had communal meals, and partied in the nearby city.

We have finally run out of roosters, all hens now. We get about 2 eggs a day. Our dog is a Great Pyrenees mix. Her name is Snowball.

Very memorial! The old Ford 8n tractor that helped us for the last 20 years died a few months ago. We sold it yesterday, the brush hog, the blade, bucket, and wood cart. She served us a long time and we will surely miss her.

Just figured it out.

I hate it. This year we have a plague of ticks! I don't go outside unless necessary or I will have 10 ticks to deal with after only fifteen minutes.

Yep, not a fan of roosters. We hatched eggs this year and got 3 hens and a rooster. I’m trying to assert my authoritar on the little bastard, but he’s a ornery sh!t. We have a Australian shepherd. Rufus. He’s pretty cool but likes the taste of chicken. 12 hens and we get about 9 eggs a day.
