All of the antimaskers I've met act just as crazy as her. Not that there aren't idiots on both sides, as you've clearly proven, but I haven't met a single person, either online or offline, who was both intelligent and in favour of prolonging our pandemic by ignoring health precautions. Masks, handwashing, vaccines, these are all proven to prevent illness, and not just Covid-19.

I don't understand how anti maskers could ever be smarter than
maskers when shear common sense says that's ridiculous. But it is by
the same common sense that I haven't worn a mask at all ever from
day one. Compared to what they were hoping covid would be (which
is obvious). And what it is (nothing more than a fizzled out fart). All
to commercialized big scare tactics for me. Why does anyone now
days ignore the fear factor? We all know it's there and yet so many
refuse to apply the knowledge.

They constantly use fear against us and if we just stop being afraid they
lose all power over us. PERIOD. So I don't even try to tell people to wake
up anymore. I mean cheese and rice if people don't see we need a trade
off? They deserve to be slaves to their fears. So wear that mask, use it as
a muzzle, STFU and leave me the hell alone. Some people are so addicted
to being afraid they think everyone else should be afraid.

Step 2: rely on the fact that no anti-masker will bother reading the paper or applying said rigor.

Step 3: watch 40+ flags and 4 pages of self-congratulations commence, reinforcing the entire narrative through blind groupthink rather than any shred of critical thinking or intellectual honesty.

The bottom line here is that a fatally flawed paper on climate science passed peer review at a significant journal. It used a dataset found online that had not undergone peer review, much less any quality control. The flawed conclusions of G19 have been loudly promoted by activist scientists and uncritical media.

Sorry nothing much to add, just wanted to say fantastic post from mc_squared. Summed up my thoughts perfectly reading this thread, and OP article.

About the topic in general yeah there is a need for mask wearing in crowded indoor environments during a pandemic that's pretty obvious, but making it mandatory to wear face coverings outside is another matter and seems a bit ludicrous to me.

There is nothing wrong with wearing a mask. It is anyway beneficial as it protects from other people's bodily fluids, dust particles in the air, as well as airborne bacteria and fungus.

The key is that mask should be clean. A cotton mask that is washed regularly and worn correctly can be quite beneficial.

Though Western societies may have a problem with it due to customs more than the effectiveness.

But paradoxically none of the smart data driven anti maskers on this thread seem to have checked to see if the link says what the OP claims.

Maybe you guys should educate yourselves better and teach that just a mask on its own is going to do virtually nothing. You gotta wash your hands, use hand sanitiser, sneeze into your elbow etc etc.
