Here’s the thing, the chocolate in Belgium was CHEAP.
I’m not sure if snob is the right term to use. It’s all about the taste and quality.
American chocolate is expensive for what they are giving you, colored sugar.

Yum....Reeses Peanut butter cups, they used to be my favorite before they started adding all the chemicals to make sure people didn't get poisoned by improperly processed peanuts. Now they are so so, I won't eat a four pack at a sitting for lunch anymore.

Crown Candy in St. Louis, Missouri has some excellent chocolate. They've been in business since 1913 and make all their own chocolate on site. Yum yum! It was around Easter when I took this picture, so that's why all the rabbits.

To be fair, it's not a money thing.

For about the same price of a domestic bar, I can get Brazilian dark chocolate with nice course sea salt peppered in.

It's healthier, it tastes incredible, and it's just so smooth.

Italians eat pasta and speak Italian. Dunkin donuts coffee is "sciaquapancia". Need a spoon to eat spaghetti. Take always the table in the corner and seat facing the door.

Hey it's funny I should come across this thread, I agree, chocolate over here is no good. I just started making my own chocolate this year and it's delicious. Just a few organic ingredients and super easy to make. I started doing it myself because I was getting really hooked on these chocolate bars I was buying online and they were seriously pricey!
